  1. He's right in what he says, loads of managers would like the job. Doesn't make him good enough tho' but I'd take him before McInnes, Davies or Mcleish.
  2. My heart sank when I read the title. Anyway, my favourite player when I was a youngster. Wish I'd been old enough to see him play for Armadale Thistle.
  3. My old man (an East Fife fan) always goes on about the Rangers Iron Curtain, especially Geordie Young. It'd be great if there was more footage from these times.
  4. Him and Numan on the same side of the field, no' bad.
  5. We're in it so we should make the maximum effort to win it but, we shouldn't be in it as we should've been playing in the spl (or whatever it's called these days) and we should've won it "3 on the trot" on our way there.
  6. Chris Woods altho' my father says Jerry Dawson was the best keeper he ever seen by a mile.
  7. I'd have liked to see him stay with us and get used the way that Motherwell used him, made them play. Their manager at the time obviously saw something in him that not too many others had seen.
  8. My favourite player when I was a youngster. Was gutted when he and Bud left after ECWC final. Wish I'd seen him play for Armadale Thistle.
  9. I remember a friendly against Arsenal to celebrate the centenary (I think, I was quite young) when at half time Baxter (who was just a name that I had heard of, Colin Stein was my idol) came out and the place went nuts.I think there were about 80,000 there that night and if I remember correctly it was 5p to get in!
  10. Something's not quite right here. The "journalists" didn't ask about Scott Allan.
  11. 6-2 game, I think it was their 4th, his "tackle" against larsson was absolutely feeble. He should've been substituted right away and never played again. Can't imagine what someone like Tam Forsyth thought when he saw that. Shocking!
  12. That's bad enough but it wasn't against giants like Cowdenbeath and Alloa. Shocking.
  13. Great player. I always wonder what would've been if we'd played him in midfield instead of letting him go to Motherwell where we all saw that he was also a great midfielder and played good week in, week out.
  14. How I see it. Let's say that a car dealership runs into financial difficulties. The administrators come in and sell off the assets. I buy a used car from them. Is it now a "new car" or is it still the same car? Simple really.
  15. I remember him coming into my work driving an an electrical supplies van. A great keeper pre wembley. I seem to remember that after Wembley him and big Peter both had turns in goal for a while.
  16. This must be the worst result during my time and what makes it worse is that it isn't a shock. Shocking but not a shock.
  17. Although it's a slightly before my time (I wish I'd seen him play for the Dale), I believe that one day Armadale were short of a centre forward and when the players were asked if anyone fancied playing centre that day, Stein volunteered. Makes you wonder what would've (or wouldn't have) happened if the regular centre forward had been there that day.
  18. Enjoyed reading that, you can't have enough posts about Jock Wallace, a great man.
  19. Scottish cup final & semis, Venues shouldn't be decided until the teams are known so that no team has an advantage. Ramsden cup final, crazy decision. Can only guess it's a wee "thank you" to Petrie and at the same time a kick in the guts to us.
