When he was made manager I said to anybody that would listen that he was the wrong man, in the wrong place at the wrong time and unfortunately that came true big time. I can forgive being a shite manager - theres many ex-players have fallen into that category. However, what sticks in the craw was the "we dont do walking away" - when the financial element of it meant he would almost never have walked away in any case. It was a great rallying soundbite that ultimately was used to justify is own greed. To re-enforce that even further,  in hindsight it has became obvious that he was quite happy to work with multiple boardroom charlatans and alleged crooks in order to line his own pockets.
I dont understand why there is even the slightest empathy for the man from some - playing record or not.
 

The board didnt play Stevie Smith at left half, Andy Little anywhere bar centre forward , play Big Lee no matter what, run John Daly into the ground while playing him as a loan striker. McCoist had more creases in the elbows of his blazer than he had tactical ideas in his head.

Just highlights the incompetence of the board over the last 3 years when they still have people in the dugout who they don't feel are capable of picking a team. If Mike Ashley was interested in the footballing side of Rangers then he should have paid the current lot off and brought in a new management team. Its really just further evidence for the SFA that Ashleys grip on Rangers is so strong he can determine team selection.

If McCoist applied that it would be fine but he doesn't. Our first team are guaranteed a start no matter how badly they perform. To me this is the reason youngsters like Urquhart and Telfer are now deciding to leave as they know the manager will stick with his favourites.

He's good at two things - scoring and linking play. He did the former. Doing the latter requires his team mates to play well too.

Hope Im wrong but we may well struggle in this one. Will Black keep his form without Law? We have nobody capable of replacing Dalys role.

No they played on it last season and were pish. I have a couple of friends who are ST holders there and they were always telling me how the opposition were better adapted to the pitch than Airdrie were.
