I am a bit concerned but I still have faith we can do it. We are certainly needing to go on a run. Obviously we cannot effect what the scum are doing but really needing them to drop points ASAP.
Would be good but if we win 11 in a row we win the league. Not impossible if the team and management go for it. We need to adopt the second half approach we showed against Dundee Utd. We were excellent apart from taking our chances. If we play like that over 90 mins rather than 45 mins I think we could win all 11.

Lack of bite in midfield, two full backs who cant defend, a central defence with one recognised centre half and playing with two luxury wingers who contribute the square root of 0. Thats what you get.
The manager could sort some of that but not all of it. Bassey off. Barasic off. Balogun and Sands on.. Kent or other useless winger off. Lundstrum on.

We need another proper central midfielder. Too often we’re looking weak/powderpuff there.
We’ve got real problems coming our way there. David, Arfield out of contact/almost past it, Jack fucked, Lundstram pish and the likes of Aribo and Kamara potentially going, this needs addressed fast
Yep totally agree. The midfield is a concern. We might scrape through this season if they all stay fit and available but thats never going to happen and as you point out Aribo and Kamara might leave.

Gerrard and his team did a good job rebuilding the club and he won 55. I will be forever grateful for that title. I wish Steven Gerrard nothing but the best. Go is hopefully a good replacement.

I think replacing Gerrard as a manager is not so much the issue but replacing that whole backroom team is more of a worry. It seems the replacements will at most have an idea of who they want as an assistant who initially will cover for that whole group. Gerrard had a good team around him that probably saved him from failure.

That was my first match at Ibrox. I was at the bottom of the Copland Road terracing but still had an OK view of the goals at the opposite end of the ground. Two cracking goals and we could have scored more. The atmosphere was incredible. That game and the 1973 Scottish Cup Final against celtic in front of 122,000 are the two best atmospheres I have experienced watching Rangers.

How the fuck a coaching team that consists of Gerrard and McAllister have been happy with the state of that midfield during their tenure defies belief.
Agree midfield is the main issue. No pace going forward and not great in terms of tackling and defensive cover despite lying too deep for most of the game. We badly need a quality addition to centre midfield. We created the square root of nought in that game tonight and a draw was all we deserved at best despite having a lot of the ball.
In addition we need Kent, Jack and Helander back and hope we get no more long term injuries or we will need to get really lucky to win the league or cups with what we have at present.

With some of the players we have signed recently, we should really have saved the money for one or two top players and filled the squad with youth players. Instead we signed squad fillers who are on decent money but will never be first choice.
As a club we don't seem to show any confidence in players from our academy and put a huge amount of credit on experience even when they are struggling with form, fitness or just not good enough.
For example signing a player like Simpson made no sense. Surely we have someone who could've stepped up from the youth team and probably out performed him. Now to continue keeping him in the squad when he's clearly not good enough makes even less sense. He might be older and more experienced than the guys from the youth team but I highly doubt he's better than any of them.
I think if Wilson/Gerrard had been given the option they would have signed one or two top players rather than squad fillers. I think the board did not want to, or felt they could not afford to, pay the £5 million + in transfer fees. As you point out the result is we now have a load of squad fillers on good wages that we will struggle to move on (familiar story). The recruitment has been poor and Simpson looks the worst of the lot. I would hope we have youth players that are better than that, otherwise they won't be making the grade. We need a couple to make the step up with Nathan Paterson in the next couple of years.
-
Poor recruitment has had a lot to do with the poor season so far. Simpson, Wright, Bocuna, Lundstrum and Ofoborm. No where near as good as the recruitment in Gerrard's first 3 seasons and with the injuries and COVID issues this has had a big impact since all are poorer than the players we have (Ofoborm ?). Wilson and Gerrard have to shoulder the responsibility for this but if the board have limited recruitment to free transfers only and have blocked any transfers requiring a meaningful fee that is some mitigation since it is quite difficult to improve a decent team, which we are when at full strength, with that remit. I think that is the message Gerrard is trying to get across.
We are going to have to do a lot better in the next few transfer windows since we do need to refresh the team.

That was without doubt one of the worst performances under Gerrard. Very lucky to win, Tacking Morelos off, bad move. Midfield is simply not good enough at present.
-
Gerrard has signed a very average player. You need to be strong, have pace or great positioning to be a good centre back. He is weak, slow and gets caught out of position frequently. Will never make it at Rangers. We loan Katic out and keep Simpson. Bad decision making.
-
This is going to be a very long season. That midfield is rank. Having said that if we take the chances at the start of the second half (especially the Roofe chance which was a sitter) that would have been game over. Disappointed but Motherwell fought hard for their point.

Not just footballers, if you work with or manage someone under 30 you will know that many of them are pampered, sensitive, quick to be offended and self centered compared to previous generations.
I managed a team that had a reasonable number of staff under 30. 80% fit your description. I was very happy and lucky that I could take early retirement at 60 and that was a big part of why I left. Gerrard has his work cut out to knock the team into shape.

And here is us thinking that hagi and aribo are actual central number tens, capable of doing that role
How many assists have Hagi and Aribo for Morelos or Roofe ?
Neither good enough for that role full time. Both are talented in their own way. Aribo has great close control and can chip in with goals now and again. Hagi is closer to what we need in that he can supply key passes and score occasionally but not often enough. I think that is why Gerrard moves them around the team. It is a hard ask but we are looking for a really top class 10.
-
The midfield is the major issue. Getting Kamara back in for Lundstrum will help defensively as will a returning Jack but we are still short of a clever attacking midfield player to supply Roofe and Morelos. Even last year we had games where this was missed. They can score a lot more this season if we can add this to the team.
-
No complaints. Midfield and defence not good enough. Poor goals conceded in both legs. Best team went through. Has all the makings of a poor season although when we get a few players back it will help but we need to add to this squad.
-
Looks an average player in a misfiring Rangers and any time I saw him play for Sheffield Utd on the TV he did not stand out as anything special.
He is not going to raise our level significantly. Don't understand why we signed him.

They’re also in the same group as Scotland so that’s probably a big part of it...
They would have to be more worried about Scotland than the Czech Republic. A draw would have been more to their liking for that to be true.

I hope england take 10 of that shower. Will never forgive scottish football for the way they treated Rangers and cannot stand the sfa or this Scotland team. Live in Wiltshire and for the first time saw England fans cheering Scotland losing. Normally they are supportive. Thats the snp factor and the constant we must leave the union coming from Scotland.

I have the same medals fixed to a senga murray large canvas print of ibrox called made in govan and I am really hoping a medal is produced for 55 to extend the collection. A big medal with the management and squad names on 1 side and the trophy and final league record on the other for example.

Great video. Enjoyed that. Thanks very much for posting.

Squad player. If Grezda is good and Middleton progresses this will be his last season.

Not for me. For me 55 was equal to Helicopter Sunday and the European Cup winners Cup win. My 3 favourite wins in my lifetime. 56 will be sweet though and we can do it if we show more aggression in the remaining games.
