Big Bert Konterman has had his say on the prospect of McLeish or De Boer joining us:

If Konterman had his way then a dream team of McLeish, his old manager, and De Boer, his former Ibrox team-mate, would be the perfect scenario.
That would certainly be one way of fulfilling the director of football and head coach roles that Ibrox managing director Stewart Robertson revealed will be the way ahead.
However, that prospect looks far too ambitious for a club in Rangers’ state – falling short on the park, while lacking money and dogged with political issues at boardroom level.
Landing 58-year-old McLeish as boss for now would, in Konterman’s opinion, bring back stability to a club that seems to lurch from one shambles to another.
A deal to land De Boer would be trickier to achieve, and it may need a period of stability, the outlining of a clear plan and an injection of funds.
The 46-year-old has already managed Ajax and Inter Milan and has been courted by clubs in England’s Premier League.
Fellow Dutchman Konterman remains alarmed by the dramas at Ibrox, where he played from 2000-2003.

The Twente under-19 coach said: “I’m really disappointed at what is going on at the club.
“It’s not good for the image of Rangers and, as someone who enjoyed a great time at the club, it saddens me to see this. It’s not nice. It looks a bit messy.
“I think it would suit Alex and be good for Rangers if he could return to the club.
“He’s a big man who may have been an icon as a player for Aberdeen but became that way as a manager at Rangers.
“When I was his player at Rangers we had a love-hate relationship. I think I was too opinionated and sometimes that led to a collision.
“But if I looked in the mirror I would have realised that my performances were not at 100 per cent and I blame myself for the issues more than Alex.
“He’s a good man and his eyes are more open now than the last time he was at Rangers due to his experiences around Europe.”
According to Ronald de Boer, who also played for Rangers in the Noughties, his twin brother intends to wait until the end of April to see what options are on the table and is not prepared to take on a job until the summer.
Konterman added: “Frank’s situation is more difficult.
“I would question if he was really up for a move to Rangers at this stage.
“Of course it is possible and the fact he has not come out and said ‘no’ to the prospect shows he still has feelings for the club.
“But Inter Milan were operating at another level from Rangers and I don’t know if Frank is up for taking on a club with struggles.
“Only he could answer that and he has said he’s going to wait his time and see what offers come in and then make a decision at the end of the season.
“It’s not impossible that he will have a good feeling about Rangers and everything fits. He could like the chance to solve the puzzle.
“What I will say about Frank is that if he is interested in reviving Rangers then he will be 100 per cent positive about achieving the goal.
“Frank is smart, he’s a good team builder and would look at getting four or five years to build something in his way.
“But you never know if top clubs are prepared to wait this long.”
Konterman watched the Mark Warburton regime at Rangers with interest, having been impressed with the Londoner when he was a tutor on his UEFA coaching course.
And he reckons unrealistic targets at Ibrox contributed to his departure last week.
Konterman said: “I’m worried about the high expectations. It’s not fair to demand big results against Celtic in their first year back. That was very hard for Mark to cope with.
“I just hope there can be a period of calm at Rangers – that’s the best way for the club to get back to the top.”

As much as I have no time for the board, he was underperforming and they obviously thought so too so when given an inch they took a mile and rightly got rid of them.
No hard feelings towards Mark and Davie though from me, Ally was an embarrassment in charge and they came in and gave us our pride back as well as a win over the manks whilst in a division below them. It just wasn't to be long term.
    Cheers Mark.

I think some of the problems are being hyped up... it doesn't take much to win the SPFL.

This seasons table is a bit of a smokescreen, Rangers got recruitment very wrong in the summer with a manager looking for a way out... whereas Celtic brought in Dembele and Sinclair and they're the difference. Let's not forget their 7-0 spanking in Barcelona ... this is not a particularly brilliant Celtic side regardless of the records. Anyone can turn up and win 1-0 every weekend when you're 20+ points clear... the league will be very different next season when Rangers get summer signings right with the right guy in charge. And I don't see Brendan Rodgers staying beyond his current deal, maybe he'll fancy the likely WHU position? Who knows.

Keeping in mind Rodgers and FDB know each other... Rodgers came close to winning the EPL with Liverpool, maybe FDB will think joining Rangers isn't so much a step back but a horizontal challenge to boost his pedigree.

FDB will have offers but he won't return to Holland, he won't get the coveted Barca job... it's very dangerous for him to take another job in Spain. He won't get Bayern, Borussia or Leipzig... his options are reasonably limited and a mid-table side in the EPL or Bundesliga are high pressure jobs that won't appeal to a guy with his ego.

The problem with FDM is he'll have to attract a team of young players on loan... whereas somebody like Henning Berg has a network out in Eastern Europe to pull on...

FRANK de Boer's agent said last night that his client is not motivated by money and his interest in the vacant Rangers post this summer is genuine. While a move, short-term or long-term, for a Scottish candidate such as Alex McLeish or Derek McInnes still appears more realistic for the Ibrox club as they bid to replace Mark Warburton, the 46-year-old Dutchman - who led Ajax to four Eredivisie titles in a row before his most recent managerial stint at Italian giants Internazionale lasted just 85 days - insists he won't make a decision on his next club until May at the latest and could yet be open to a surprise return to Ibrox.
While much will depend upon what other clubs express an interest in a man who has previously made it onto the shortlists at Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, his representative Guido Albers - who brokered the deal which saw De Boer arrive at Ibrox as a 33-year-old under Alex McLeish on a heavily appearance-fee weighted contract back in 2004 - believes his wage won't be the stumbling block. De Boer was thought to be on a seven-figure annual sum during his time in Milan, although a sizeable fee will also be due were the Ibrox side to move for another potential target in Derek McInnes.
"Two years ago Liverpool called and Tottenham called and I think for him it is important to take his time," said Albers. "But If he had no interest in a job like this [Rangers] he would say no definitely and he hasn't done this.
"So if he has a good feeling about being approached by Glasgow then everything is possible," he added. "For now, he is not saying 'I am not going to do this or not do that'. Of course there have been a lot of things that he has said no to before but he is going to put all the options on the table in May and then he will make a decision.
"When he played for Rangers, and you can ask David Murray about this, he didn't get any salary, he was playing for nothing, because he was just pleased that Rangers were going to let him play," Albers added. "You could imagine 25 coaches who are like that, in it for the money, but you can't say things like that about Frank because he has never made a choice about money. He makes his choices about ambition and what he really wants to do. I am not saying that he will work for nothing - for sure he won't! - but what I am not saying is that money will not make it impossible for him to go there. It will depend on everything, the club, the vision, the long-term, the quality of the players, everything like that.
"I had the same with Ronald Koeman, when I brought him to Feyenoord everyone thought that was impossible because of the money, but he spent three years at Feyenoord. And now he is at Everton.
"What they [a partnership between Frank and his brother Ronald] would bring is true football and a vision. At Ajax it worked because he had a vision and time to create a vision and I think if he gets the time that he will be successful at whatever his next club is too. I am absolutely convinced that he can go on to be one of the top managers in the world. Because I have seen him working and seen him succeed at Ajax where there is such pressure, to succeed with Dutch players."

Is disagree with the anti-catholic sentiment but the OP knew exactly what he was doing starting this thread.
People are entitled to their opinions but if voicing that opinion is used by the haters to damage the club then keep them to yourself or share them with other like minded people. The stuff I've seen written here is exactly the kind of thing I've seen referenced when the haters are perpetuating the lie that Rangers and it's fans are a problem in society.
I would never discriminate based on someone's religion even though I personally don't have any faith, I believe it all to be nonsense but if someone takes comfort from it or it helps tune their moral compass then I have no problem with it and neither would the vast majority of our fans.
