thetruthisootthere reacted to Paisleybear1872 in Union Bears Statement
Over the last 10 years the Union Bears have been proud of our rise from a small group in the Copland Rear to having our own section at Ibrox, becoming the heartbeat of the stadium on matchday whilst creating many of the best visual displays ever seen in Britain. We have been involved behind the scenes working to help other groups and RSC's within the wider Rangers support in countless ways during our existence.
Aside from all these notable achievements, our group has also dedicated much of our time to developing our aim for the future and ultimately attempting to convey this to Rangers. In the past few years we have worked hard to develop a detailed proposal for a safe standing section at Ibrox, which included meeting with architects, companies who have implemented rail seats in other grounds and a dedicated football crowdfunding platform who have achieved success with projects around the country and in Europe. We also conducted our own research to establish the level of interest among Rangers fans to both see a safe standing section installed and actively be a part of one. During this time we met with representatives of Rangers, including current Board members to discuss our vision for the future and how this would have an extremely positive impact on the fan experience at Ibrox, the image of the club and most importantly the backing we can offer the players.
In all instances we were told that the Club was very much in tune with our thinking and that follow-up meetings would be arranged to discuss further. They never were. At our most recent meeting with the club hierarchy there was numerous options discussed for firstly expanding our current section in a more prominent part of Ibrox and we were told there would be a follow up meeting ASAP, as soon as the options were explored further.
However, to our dismay, at the time of writing the Club have cut off all but essential communication with our group, especially when it comes to safe standing and an expanded singing section.
Our prior research has shown that there is huge desire within the Rangers support for fans to have the choice of sitting or standing at Ibrox. We believe there are thousands of season ticket holders and RSC members who would take great pleasure in being able to stand with their friends and vocally back their team for 90 minutes, to recreate the fantastic away support at Ibrox and to generally enjoy the experience much more than they are now. We believe that a safe standing section at Ibrox, large enough to accommodate all supporters who wish to participate is not an issue which should be pushed to the back of the queue but an absolute requirement.
As Rangers supporters, we have all seen how the Ibrox experience has been in terminal decline for many years and shows no signs of improvement. Unfortunately it seems that the Club are simply unwilling to listen to ways of improving that in the short to medium term, as it's much easier to ignore and rely on the unwavering loyalty of the Rangers fans instead. That's not and never will be good enough, and the Rangers support must come together and show just how much we want to affect positive change at Ibrox. We all want our passion to be showcased to the world, our flags to fly high, our children to get a buzz like no other when they walk through those hallowed gates.
Lets be clear, this is not about the Union Bears, RSC's or individual supporters. This is about Rangers fans working together to achieve together a lasting legacy, paving the way for Rangers to become an intuitive Club willing to make the effort to improve the fan experience at football and reaping the rewards in doing so. Safe standing can be those first steps, a tangible achievement which we can all tell our children and grandchildren we helped to create.
The Union Bears urge all RSC's and supporters to lend your voice to our fight for safe standing to be introduced at Ibrox so that collectively the Club cannot ignore us. As has been proved many times in the recent past, together we are unstoppable.
    Union Bears - No Surrender

They might be better than what we think though. Firstly, the player didn't really look that out of place in the short time he played, not really; secondly, how many players have we had from abroad who have come with bigger reputations than Pena, and haven't looked good, and never settled? Maybe this approach by Caixinha is a little more thoughtful, if I can put it that way; in that a player comes and every aspect is paid attention to in order to make him feel at home here, and for him to adjust. I think the reassuring thing is that the manager has a very sound narrative when it comes to Pena, and not playing him last night was a good way of proving that. The easy thing would have been to send him on a 4-0 up and make him look brilliant, and then drop him for a more important match; I'm glad there is a great deal of thought going into this; it's about time we did this kind of thing. If pays off, then it will be very rewarding for the club and the manager.

For good or bad, I think this appointment is the last throw of the dice for this board.
Quite some money has been spent and whilst not a king's ransom, they do still fund the year on year deficit, but for how much longer?!
We and they need this appointment to work. It hasn't been the greatest of starts, but give the guy a chance in getting these players settled and used to a new set up. See where we are after the first ten games and even then, if it aint working just wtf do we do? A new manager and new players? We just aint in the position to do that.
This appointment is pivotal to our future, as the one thing this board haven't got is cash to throw away year on year to continually rebuild entire teams.
Whilst PC isn't everyone's cup of tea, the best thing we can can do as a support is get right behind him and the team. Be that twelfth man, because in this current climate of hate and title stripping and financial constraints, we need every bit of help we can muster. It only makes sense. Failure doesn't bear thinking about, as I pray for a PC miracle.

Yeah! well that's definitely the way to go then man .... so everybody that is critical of you is now "an anonymous halfwit on a forum" ......  that's not exactly going to get people on your side is it? .... especially when you were the one who instigated this thread and posted a link (not even C&P'd) .... to the DR .... on "a forum".
You're actually lucky this is a forum that allows you to engage and react to posters critical of you and the blog work you have accepted from your career enhancing DR paymasters.
While conveniently forgetting that what you are doing is making money off the back of the Rangers name .... and rightly or wrongly you will be perceived as the voice of The Rangers support ..... and unless you print a disclaimer that it is your individual opinion only .... and not the opinion of all of the support .... then this is how it will be perceived by the scum who will pay to read your blog .... the disclaimer probably wouldn't stop the filth right enough .... but it could reduce the friction you have generated among some of us.
It is not all about you now .... or your weak excuse that ... "I'll do what's best for me" .... fuck you attitude .... By taking this job you are now the official DR Rangers Blogger ... but more importantly your are the unofficial voice of the support .... deny this if you want but it won't change the impression.
So expect to be taken to task when you come on here .... if what you write in your blogs is not to everyones "approval" ..... because this is just what you asked for when you started this thread .... our approval .... and approval is like trust ..... it has to be earned ..... if you can actually earn that trust .... then perhaps attitudes may just change "the anonymous halfwits" opinions.

Wonder when we will get the obligatory ex rangers player writing a piece about how we shouldn't use this a point scoring against our rivals. Well fuck that, I will be singing loud and proud about it. Posting on social media and telling everyone I know about what those scum covering up child molesting animals have been up too.

Based on the evidence established, in my mind there are two very simple, straight forward questions that has to come out the other end of this. Questions that should be asked by both the Police and Footballing authorities in this country
Did Celtic Football Club (persons appointed/paid to represent the club) knowingly not report sex offences against children and/or did Celtic Football Club (again representatives) knowingly allow a sex offender access to children?
If the answer to either/both of those questions is yes the Club and individuals have to be held accountable and a full inquest launched to ensure that preventative measures are in place.
Would any other organisation be afforded  the blatantly obvious questions not being asked or indeed the appropriate consequences applied?
The time for them wheeling out the 'point scoring' line to avoid accepting what happened is over.
As long as the media and relevant  authorities continue to avoid asking those questions they remain complicit in a cover up.

All the RC traits are here in this story, child abuse, denial , cover ups and astounding arrogance. Even when faced with the undeniable evidence all we get is brick wall silence. They truly are repulsive and no amount of tainted title honour's will ever take that away.

After watching that, the only justice to the victims I can see is shutting down celtic fc, selling all players and assets and giving the remaining monies to the victims and their families. The lives that have been ruined are truly horrific due to the cover up that is still happening to this day. Rancid disgusting institution!

Individuals will be prosecuted and disgraced. That's where the focus will go. Sellic will be tarnished, but they'll survive it and a compliant media will soften the damage in the medium to long term.
That'd be my guess. We shall see.
