  1. Creigans commentry after that ‘incident’ was an absolute disgrace. Saying he was kneeing and punching the player was an outright lie and he continued even while the replay showed nothing even close to what he said happened. Someone at the club needs to bring it up because for all the biased commentry we’ve had to put up with that imo took it to a whole new level just making up something that didn’t even happen to try and get a player in trouble.
  2. I’d agree with this. We’re not going to get a wingback who is as good defensively as he is attacking, very few at the top level are and if Tav was he wouldn’t be playing here! If we want attacking fullbacks which it seems most managers favour these days then we have to accept sometimes they will make mistakes at the back but today was unacceptable. Losing his man from a set piece is just basics, I would expect every player on the pitch no matter where they play to be able to track a man as professional footballers but sometimes for whatever reason mistakes are made, watch the top level of football and you’ll see it happen so once although terrible defending is imo forgivable, but you have to react well and be 100% concentrated for the rest of the game. The fact that Tav let his man go again, at such an important time in the match suggests not a lack of ability but more a lack of concentration and possibly even effort, and that for me is completely unacceptable.
  3. Agreed, he’ll be massive if fit for Sunday!
  4. We know what we’re going to be up against when we play Motherwell. They’re tough and physical but that’s Scottish football and we’ve got to get used to it if we’re going to have a good campaign. We were poor in the second half, but Gerrard and the team will hopefully learn from that. We’ve got a new manager and nearly a new 11 of course there’s going to be mistakes and bumps in the road, it’s how we deal with them that’s going to count come the end of the season.
  5. Always amazes me how often teams try to defend a one goal lead. We should have come out and got stuck into them from the second the whistle went for the second half, after the goal just before half time they were there for the taking but instead we lowered ourselves to their level and it cost us.
  6. Like you said last season we would have lost that, but that’s the only positive I can find. We sat far too deep in the second half, invited pressure and paid the price. We have to start keeping the ball better and holding it up up top. Even with all that if Tav could keep his fucking man from set plays we would have probably scraped a win, he needs to wake up and keep focus because he cost us today, not all his fault but ultimately a big part of the blame has to lie with him.
  7. Will be at work Thursday so will miss the game, just have to keep looking at updates on muni phone. Sunday will hopefully find a pub down here showing it, a pub fairly local to me normally shows the OF games as long as they don’t clash with any EPL games so will give it a try. Out of interest does anyone know of any Rangers pubs in Bristol/ south west?
  8. Any player with his temperament and ability is going to be a target, id be disappointed if we didn’t do the same if he was on the opposing team. He needs to learn to be more streetwise, when to give something back but get away with it, when to go down and win a foul or get the opposition carded and when to let his football do the talking, I’m sure working with someone with the experience of Gerrard will be a massive help with this. He’ll become one of these players that we love while the rest of the league hates, just needs to learn to be a bit smarter with it imo.
  9. And people wonder why the Scottish game is in the state it is, not hard to work out with ‘professionals’ like him. Any other league in the world he would be charged by the governing body for comments like this and delt a severe punishment, won’t be expecting anything from the Scottish authorities though and that just shows how amateur and unprofessional the game up there is.
  10. Disgraceful but not surprising. Modern day football in the ‘big’ leagues doesn’t give a shit about the fans anymore. Gone are the days where fans buying tickets were the lifeblood of the clubs, these days with tv revenue, sponsorships and commercial opportunities all over the world the true fans don’t even get a thought. As much as I despise Scottish football at times, I’m so glad it hasn’t yet gone the same way as the epl, la liga etc. It’s still real football for real fans and we should count ourselves lucky we still have that.
  11. Defending is almost secondary for fullbacks these days, getting forward and lookin for the overlap is what managers expect and Tav does it brilliantly. I think too many people are expecting an old school fullback from Tav something he’ll never be, he’s a modern day wingback and a bloody good one aswell!
  12. Two things I noticed tonight. One, I don’t shit myself whenever the opposition have the ball in our half anymore, I’m confident we can deal with it. And two were so much more streetwise than before. We know when to foul and when to win a foul. We know when to waste time and how to turn the game into the match we want to play. IMO if your going to win trophy’s and title we have to have that about us, maybe it’s Gerrard’s influence having played at highest level or what I don’t know but it’s so bloody good to see!
  13. Rated him last season but fuck me how he’s improved this season! Does the job he’s asked to do brilliantly and will win us points on his own. Outstanding again tonight!
  14. Spot on. I’ll admit I wasn’t too happy with us signing him but reluctantly I agreed with it because we needed quality and couldn’t be fussy where it came from. Well he’s won me round he’s been fucking sensational since he came back! Keep it up shagger all is forgiven!
  15. Didn’t bother reading it just skimmed through, but does he really think a manager doesn’t watch footage of previous seasons to identify strengths and weaknesses of the players in the squad? Still I love how they’re hurting and desperate to try to stick the boot into Gerrard, they know we’re onto a good thing and are shitting themselves! What they don’t realise is Gerrard is used to dealing with far more experienced and professional journalists than the Scottish amateurs, he’s probably just laughing at them!
  16. He speaks brilliantly. You can tell he’s intelligent and knows football inside out, he’s experienced everything in the game and his reputation as a player will ensure the players here today want to listen and learn from him. He’s clearly identified our weaknesses and has spent time looking at the players to improve us and it’s playing off with the results and clean sheets. Glad he said the red was deserved, it strengthens his position last week and shows he not just someone who’s going to moan about refs week in week out, when he does call out the biased and incompetent refs people are going to listen. In short I have no doubt he knows exactly what he’s doing in every situation, we’re in good hands im sure of that!
  17. Looks great! Hopefully those of you at the game can get plenty of decent photos for those of us not lucky enough to be there to see it!
  18. I’ll admit I was wrong on this, I though it was a red because as I understood it kicking or attempting to kick an opponent off the ball was always a straight red, I was wrong but I’m not a professional referee! There can only be two answers to this one. Either the ref didn’t know the rules, or the linesman has lied about what he saw. This is happening far too much to just be bad luck or even a case of bad refereeing, the club need to make an example of it and show the rest of the footballing world just how corrupt Scottish football is, we have the perfect platform to get it out there now with a world famous ex pro as our manager, time to put pressure on these bastards. People will probably say it’s taig like etc but fuck it, our enemy’s are fighting dirty, time we were more streetwise and did the same. With 11 men we would have won that, our performance dropped on the last 5 or 10 mins because we were exhausted playing nearly the whole game a man down, not to mention Morelos could have put away some of the chances we created or given us someone else up front to create chances for. This has cost us 2 points already and it’s time to make a stand before it costs us anymore.
  19. It’s in the rules in England if a ref is an ex player he can’t officiate a team he used to play for. It most likely will not make a difference but it’s about professionalism and integrity something that sadly doesn’t exist in Scottish football!
  20. Yeh I’m not sure how much you guys up there see but everything SG does or says is reported, it’s great I actually get news on Rangers so easily! People at work who normally know nothing about Rangers or Scottish football are talking about us and so many watched the game against the sheep on the weekend. We need to use this to our advantage we’ll never get a better chance to highlight what goes on up there because most people down here don’t have a clue, and no matter what they say if it’s getting shown up to the football world outside of Scotland it will without doubt put pressure on them to even things up.
  21. I hope Gerrard does bring this up in his press conference. The English media are reporting everything he says, and everyone outside Scotland will see how corrupt it is. With the whole of England seeing the issues being highlighted by SG hopefully it will put pressure on the sfa to treat us fairly.
  22. This is what I don’t get when they say this. The penalty isn’t punishment it’s evening up the goal scoring opportunity, the card then is the punishment. If we go down the line of the pen is punishment enough then every player is going to commit a foul to stop a certain goal knowing there is a chance the penalty will be missed. Thats why the rule states that if there’s no attempt to play the ball and you stop a clear goal scoring opportunity it’s a pen AND a red, which is exactly why Ball should have been off. Just a shame the ref chose not to apply the rule properly!
  23. Just seen on Rangers fan page on instagram someone’s caught up with him and given hima kicking, any news if it’s true?
