  1. Rangers can today confirm that James Bisgrove will join the club as Director of Commercial and Marketing.

Following a rigorous recruitment process, James will join Rangers in June from his current position as Head of Sponsor Partnership Management at TEAM Marketing AG, the exclusive marketing agency for UEFA Club Competitions.

Prior to that, James held leading Commercial and Marketing roles at UEFA, Emirates Airline and Betfair.

Managing Director Stewart Robertson said: “We look forward to welcoming James to the team as our new Director of Commercial and Marketing.

“He has a wealth of experience in building and maintaining commercial partnerships within football, which will help us to maximise revenues next season and beyond”

James Bisgrove commented ‘’It’s an exciting time to be joining Rangers. I look forward to using my commercial and broader marketing experience from UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and other global properties to help enhance the clubs commercial proposition.

“Rangers has an iconic brand which can further thrive domestically, and, importantly, across key international markets.”

Especially against Aberdeen and Killie, they both deploy the same tactics against us and look at the effect our games against them have had on our season, it doesn't take a genius to work out that they want us to have the ball so being more productive in midfield to attack is essential,  my only concern would be a lack of pace with the 3 centre backs but that's when you rely on the wide men to bust a gut

I think Katic has decent pace and Goldson isn’t that slow

Makes little impact from the bench

    he’ll be 37 next season

if Morelos does go we need SG’s marquee signing to be a striker

Defoe wasn’t playing regularly recently at Bournemouth and was never brought to Rangers to be a first choice main striker that’s for sure

Find myself agreeing with you more often than not now Keyser. I don’t like it.

    id let him go.

I’m the same, he’s an expensive Cummings in the sense he needs to be played with someone else up front who can do his running for him. When he comes off the bench he does very little unless the team were against is leaving massive gaps which against the likes of Killie, Aberdeen, taigs, Hearts and Hibs they don’t.

Him and Kenny Miller up front next year, Lafferty as back up, with ever other current promising forward loaned out to hibernate in Scottish lower divisions.

Charlie Adam, Nicky Law (who ?) and Naismith in to bolster midfield, alongside 2 or 3 average loan players from England.

Broadfoot and Danny Wilson in at centre back, Couple of current Scottish Premier players/leg breakers to bolster defence.

Then we buy two or three players from the first diddy wee Khazakstani or Moldovian team we play in Europe who play a blinder against us.

    Squad sorted.

    Fuck it Bring back ejaria

Fed up reading about Kris Boyd and his shite, hypocritical opinions on any of our players anyway.

I'm still haunted by the sight of that disgusting fat fuck coming on in the play off final when we were being ripped a new one by a piss poor Motherwell side and waddling about the pitch in his XXXL strip looking and performing like a fan that had won the chance to get subbed on.

Nah a fan would have put in more of a shift, Boyd came on and gave the same performance Paul the tim would probably give for us if we signed him and brought him on as a sub.

    If...……...

Around 48 seconds into the interview the 'If' followed by a list of characteristics SG believes Rangers players need is correct imo.   The 'if' and his conclusion of "....if they have anything about them".     To my mind the season for SG is boiling down now to sorting wheat from chaff for next season.

9 games left.  9 cup finals.   9 games for players to try to convince SG they are worth their place for next season, noting that SG does not expect a squad overhaul in summer but does expect to add some better players.

It's about trophies though isn't it.  We're not winning any this season.  We didn't win any last season.  We've not won a major trophy since 2010/11.   Not good enough imo.  That has to change next season and if its to be the case that most of this current squad are going to feature again next season then their individual responses to SG's 'if they have anything about them' point is going to have to have a positive - consistently positive - response from the players.   We'll see.....but the track record so far is that far too many of them don't have anything like enough about them.

Halliday basically said this in the presser
