Music before kick off

Slightly lighter hearted topic this one, but I feel an important one nonetheless.

Ever since we done away with the non PC version of Simply The Best (which we ALL need to agree, created a brilliant atmosphere), there hasn't really been a decent tune to help us get going for kick off.

I ask, does anyone have any really good suggestions for a hair-raising tune before kick off?

I was at The Emirates last week to see Arsenal v Wigan, and for all my Indie mates out there, they played the start of Club Foot by Kasabian, and lets just say it does the trick.

Suggestions?

Sure I'm an Ulster Orangeman,

From Erin's Isle I came,

To see my British brethren

All of honour and of fame,

And to tell them of my forefathers

Who fought in days of yore,

That I might have the right to wear,

The sash my father wore!

Chorus:

It is old, but it is beautiful,

And its colors they are fine

It was worn at Derry, Aughrim,

Enniskillen and the Boyne.

My father wore it as a youth

In bygone days of yore

And on the Twelfth I love to wear

The sash my father wore.

Chorus

For those brave men who crossed the Boyne

Have not fought or died in vain

Our Unity, Religion, Laws,

And Freedom to maintain,

If the call should come we'll follow the drum,

And cross that river once more

That tomorrow's Ulsterman may wear

The sash my father wore!

Chorus

And when some day, across the sea

To Antrim's shore you come,

We'll welcome you in royal style,

To the sound of flute and drum

And Ulster's hills shall echo still,

From Rathlin to Dromore

As we sing again the loyal strain

Of the sash my father wore!

Chorus

The Blue Sea of Ibrox

I know that it has been tried before but i think if everybody joined in then it would be a great song to get everybody going.

The blue sea of Ibrox would be perfect if ALL the fans actually sung it. If the music cut out for the last verse we could make Ibrox wobble..

The problem is getting ALL the fans to sing it and getting the Ibrox speaker attendant guy to switch off the music at the right time. I believe pamphlets to the fans as the go through the turnstyles or left of seats could work but getting the right people to even see this suggestion is hard enough.

I've tried to make this happen by sending out a few emails to various supporters clubs and emailin Rangers themselves but it's falling on deaf ears unfortunately. <cr> :angry2:

A song that song that has nothing to do with Rangers where at least Simply the best has good reason to it

you explain to me why it is, convince me

Okay then. It is a song which celebrates the history of Northern Ireland and Great Britian. Bearing in mind that Northern Ireland has one of the largest amount of Rangers supporters living there i believe that a song like this is not innapropriate at a Rangers game. A song doesn't have to directly mention the club to be relevant to it. It sends a message of support to all of our fellow Bears isolated across the Irish Sea.

Yes, the song does have ties to Protestantism but so do we no matter how much people want to gloss over it. And most of all it is a song which has been sung from almost the beginning of Rangers' porud history therefore it is part of our history and part of our club.

So tell me why it shouldn't be played? Tell me why it has nothing to do with Rangers.

D'ye know what.

I get offended that the sash gets sung.

I find IT offensive.

it's got fuck all to do with rangers.

only got introduced AFTER septic got started, plus i think its a shit song.

i really dont liek it and i think its a morbid piece of dross - in no way inspiring.

So it can GTF as far as I am concerned!
