You have bought a squad that is too unbalanced and since you have come back you have played John Fleck, Steven Davis, Charlie Adam, Steven Smith, Steven Naismith, Kyle Lafferty, Kenny Miller, Nacho Novo... in wide areas when they are clearly not wide men! But I don't understand Walter Smith. When we needed a 'special talent' a 'wide player', the manager spent £1m on Andrius Velicka. He spent £3.75m on Kyle Lafferty, a striker, who played out on the left for the majority of matches for his previous club(s) - I bet Smith only saw him play out wide, and thought that he could do a job for us out there . outlaw69uk 123 Posted November 30, 2009 Share Posted November 30, 2009 Ah, everyone has been saying it for years, except, during those years, claiming the ones we had in those positions were "too lightweight" "pish" "inconsistent" (Unheard of for a winger I know haha) etc etc etc Its almost as amusing as the "walter wont play youth" followed by "cant play them, they are too inexperienced" nonsense that goes on. Quite interesting that the last time we actually looked good, and, had some width, the old whipping boys Adam and Burke were playing! Remember, those players not good enough currently perfrming very well in a league of higher quality than ours, and, we sold them for a combined total of about £500k aye? Charlie Adam had a good game, once a month (if we were lucky) - that's why they were moved on. Charlie Adam never brought us width, balance, pace....9/10 his pass, final ball, delivery were poor - he got the odd one right. His lack of fitness and shape was a disgrace. I think alot of that has to do with the fact there is nowhere near the amount of pressure at Blackpool and Cardiff as there is at Rangers. That we don't have any width is no-one's fault but his. He's the one who bought nothing but defenders, central midfielders and strikers, and then played a tactical lucky dip to see which position they'd play each week. So, surely they "could" have been doing that for us then Its a thought though, perhaps there is something wrong at the club, and, selling them was wrong? They can obviously do whats needed technically. Maybe it is the regime, maybe its the general state of things at the club just now, since, better players than them are not cutting it, or, even looking as good as me!
