Tottenham star set for shock January transfer to Celtic

Spurs are ready to sell Robbie Keane to Celtic - but want the Scottish club's keeper Artur Boruc as part of the deal.

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is willing to offload striker Keane, 29, next month.

And Celtic have already put wheels in motion to bring the Republic of Ireland forward to the SPL.

Spurs only brought Keane back from Liverpool in January for £12million after his ill-fated move to Anfield.

But the forward, who has eight goals this term, is behind Jermain Defoe and Peter Crouch in the pecking order at White Hart Lane.

Keane is also in Redknapp's bad books after helping organise Spurs players' recent unauthorised Christmas jaunt to Dublin.

And Redknapp is hoping to freshen up his squad with Keane completing an expected transfer north of the border.

Redknapp needs another goalkeeper following Carlo Cudicini's motorbike accident.

Cudicini, 36, faces a battle to ever play professionally again after a horror-smash in West London.

So any potential transfer involving Keane to Celtic may include their Polish shot-stopper Boruc, 29, moving to the Premier League.

Boruc, contracted at Celtic until 2011, has been linked with moves to the top-flight before when Arsenal and Aston Villa were previously interested in him.

And he would compete with Heurelho Gomes for the No.1 spot at White Hart Lane.

LIVERPOOL are tracking Aiden McGeady with a view to an £8million January swoop for the Celtic ace.
Hoops legend and Kop ambassador Kenny Dalglish was at Motherwell for Celtic's 3-2 win last weekend - and he wasn't at Fir Park just to watch his former club. SunSport understands the Anfield giants have been eyeing the on-form wide man all season.

Dalglish first became aware of the Republic of Ireland star while he was director of football at Parkhead in 2000 and McGeady was a highly-rated 14-year-old in the youth team.

Ever since Scotland idol Dalglish has closely monitored McGeady's progress to first team stardom.

Now he's been keeping tabs for under-pressure Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez who knows he badly needs to add creativity. McGeady is also being chased by Birmingham City while Spurs and Bayern Munich have also had him watched over the last year.

Celts boss Tony Mowbray has stated repeatedly that the 23-year-old is not for sale and is a major part of his future plans.

But there is a growing belief that on McGeady's current form the Hoops board will have to deal with at least one massive bid.

ahha! both stories are utter shite, no doubt about it. Especially that Robbie Keane one! What a load of total shite, ahahaha! One good thing about being completely fucked financially is these stories won't be doing the rounds for us as much come the window at least.

Actually, I can see this happening.

The Spurs fans that I know say that Keane is finished and nothing but a shadow of his former self. He's also enraged Redknapp by arranging a trip to Dublin behind his back for a player's night out that the gaffer had banned.

I'd always said that Keane would move to Celtic when he became not good enough for the Premiership, and it's looking like that will be no later than the end of this year.

Bawruc has been in Scotland for 5yrs now if any EPL teams where after him they would have signed long before now, and Arry,s not stupid he would have had him watched and seeing what hes been like over the past two seasons no chance, he couldnt keep hens oot a hen hut. Hes got weight problems, theres a want about him and tbh he just not that good a keeper the strikers down there would soon show him up as a very average goalie.

Robbie Keane will be like his namesake Roy, he will end up at the manks when hes about 35 and finished just to forfill his boyhood dream.
