Foster is a player who may actually contribute to the club, Velicka was a player who would contribute nothing to the club except drain it of funds which could go to a player who may do something i.e Foster.I would rather have a player who may actually play, or provide decent cover for a position where we are weak, than a player who will get skelfs from sitting in the stands (not even on the bench !!) The one thing Walter Smith can do is spot a good defender. Foster may be exactly what we need. He may be faster, but he is a bombscare defensively for Aberdeen. If Whittaker gets injured, Broadfoot should be the replacement as he is a much better defender than Foster. Like i say though, good to have a wee bit of cover in i suppose, but disappointed we never got the winger that Walter said he wanted from day 1.
