This is surreal, I think a takeover was the last thing on anybodys mind yesterday

Like i said earlier, it came from nowhere, very similar to the Liverpool takeover.

This Whyte seems to know what he doing, it looks like he specialises in business that need a bit of help.

Hopefully, he can get a business plan for the club that allows us to operate debt free and in a way that we dont rely on Champions league to not post a loss at the end of the year. Unfortunately, footballs all about money these days.

This is all assuming this happens of course.

Whyte is involved with Liberty International Holdings Limited.

Ellis was appointed as a director of this company in September - same day as a number of others whose names don't mean anything to me.

As far as I can work out, this is not true.

The Ellis at Liberty International Holdings is Martin Ellis. This mob own shopping malls, including Braehead.

Martin Ellis, as far as I know, is no relation to Andrew Ellis.

Craig Whyte is not listed anywhere in the LIH directors.

His firm is Liberty Capital.

By the way, I also checked the UK companies that Craig Whyte is listed as a director of.

Suffice to say I'd be holding off on the champagne until we get some more solid information.

My own feeling, though, is that there is absolutely nothing to suggest this guy is anywhere near a billionaire.

The Glasgow-born businessman Craig Whyte is understood to be closing in on a deal to take control of Rangers from David Murray.

Rangers have been in the tight grip of the Lloyds Banking Group, with Murray unable to separate the club from its parent company, Murray International Holdings.

That could be set to change, with Whyte poised to formalise his previously unknown interest in Rangers.

Wouldn't think wed have a good transfer budget anyway, would be daft for any businessman to lob piles cash at us in this financial climate.

It could be better, but i'd not be getting my hopes up for any substantial difference in the near future...

I don't think alot of things have been said without a jovial tone.

We have done with next to no transfer funds for a few seasons bar the summer just there. Most is just speculation right now and we could easily get no January funds at all. If and that is a big IF this does go through.

The main thing I'll look towards is getting our main players tied up on contracts, if we are indeed taken over.

Im sure most are just sitting back and hoping for the best. Lets hope we get some solid news tomorrow

As daft as it sounds - I don't want tens of millions thrown at the squad for transfers.

A few million in Jan would be nice to beef up the squad, but even then I'm talking a couple of million on Templeton .. maybe a million odd combined for Conway and Gomis etc.

I don't want us to end up back at square one with debt again.

We don't need tens of millions to win this league. We have a better XI than Celtic, but need a better squad to guarentee us the title. In my opinion.
