Salim Kerkar

Yesterday wasnt the right time to play him in the sense that he hasnt kicked a ball for us but there have been a few games we have been 2 or 3 goals up and he never got a chance, even a 5 min run out to let us see him.

I see the Bougy's pal argument but i really doubt that. It just has to be that he is way down the pecking order and he is most likely on a pay as you play deal and will only ever play if Wylde, Lafferty, Naismith, Weiss, Whittaker, Fleck and prob even Diouf were all unavailable.

So true.

(tu)

You really need to change your username. I'm not saying you aren't allowed to criticise Smith but it's just really ironic whenever you do.

Aye, but Kerkar, a complete mystery.

when your manager would rather play someone out of position than you, the same manager that chased you for almost half a year it seemed, then you would tell him to stick the pay as you play deal if you were on it

he will be getting a wage, a small one mind you, but a completely pointless wage in a time that we are counting every single penny

a superb decision that can be added to the list of superb decisions made over the last 4 years

This is exactly how I read into it. A very, very average player on here to play when we have literally nobody else. He'll probably be on a very small basic wage with an appearence fee that we don't want to give him unless we really need to.

Am i the only person who remembers the name Dan Eggen? Spent the year at Rangers, 2003, when we won the treble, good season. And from the stories, a long drawn out battle, finally signed him :

"Rangers have added defender Dan Eggen to their squad following a breakthrough in his protracted wrangle with Spanish club Alaves.

The Norway international has signed a six month contract after impressing manager Alex McLeish during a winter break trial in Dubai.

Rangers were free to move for the 33-year-old after Alaves dropped their demands for a transfer fee in what has been a complicated on-off move.

Eggen is relieved to have secured a move to Glasgow and hopes to do enough this season to earn a longer stay in Glasgow. "

So after all this, how many appearances did he make for the club that showed such a huge interest in him?

None.

So a player, we fought to sign and wanted to play for us never got a single minuite on the pitch and walked away with a pile of champion medals. More often than not we sign a number of players who never see the light of day then dissapear without a trace.

Should we not be singing players we may need? A good quality first team, a number of substitutes who will be used and then more youth players, who will see a game atleast once or twice.

He's another Makhtar N'Diaye

Signed to boost squad numbers but would only play in an absolute emergency

His lack of sub appearances also suggests to me that his basic wage is very low (probably around £1000 a week) and we don't want to pay him any more than that

Agree with this.

I doubt he's any good, why else would he have been in the third division in France at 23 :craphead:

The mystery around him annoys me. Really want to see what he can do. Don't give them a chance and we'll never know. His legs are massive, looks like he has some skill and a bit of pace. If he can put in a decent cross I think he could be decent. With Wylde getting games I doubt we'll ever see him, which will piss me off.

I would love to earn a grand a week for training with the real Rangers players.

Pointless signing, because even if there were injuries, players would be shoehorned into a position ahead of Kerkar.

He is probably not good enough, but I doubt we will ever get to find out.

Salim Kerkar was never going to play for Rangers. Said it from day 1 and I will stand by that statement.

Then, considering our financial woes, can you venture a guess as to why he was signed ?

It really is baffling why we signed this guy. IMO, if you are on the bench for Rangers, you should be good enough to come on and play.

Andy Webster anyone? Played 90 mins again for Hearts yesterday. Who knows what the hells going on these days

Someone for Bougherra to talk to and socialise with no more no less as he certainly wasn't signed for football reasons.

I said this right from the beginning and also don't expect to see him play 1 minute of football for us before being released at the end of the season.
