just seen that on skysports site there he doesnt wanna go out on loan and want s to break into Arsenal 1st team.

Bartley

Kyle Bartley has no plans to head out on loan this season, with it his aim to become a regular at Arsenal.

The 19-year-old took in a spell at Rangers in 2010/11, helping them to land the Scottish Premier League title.

He showed enough during his time at Ibrox to suggest that he is ready to hold down a senior role.

Bartley is, however, still some way down the pecking order at Arsenal, with a number of more experienced centre-halves currently ahead of him in Arsene Wenger's thoughts.

He is not prepared to give up, though, and believes the forthcoming campaign could be the one that sees him make the breakthrough with the Gunners.

Pressure

"If I'm honest, I don't think I was anywhere near the level to play for Arsenal last season," Bartley told the club's official website.

"But I've come back, I feel really strong and I feel that I am ready now. I learned the demands of being at a top football club who are trying to win things and how important it is to be a champion and a winner.

"Every time you step on the pitch, you are going out there to win so there is a lot of pressure on you. I think I can offer something else as I am a little bit different to the other centre-backs.

"I spoke to the boss on the Friday before they left for Asia and he told me they had four centre-backs going on the tour and obviously I wasn't fully over my (knee) injury yet.

"It was always the aim to get back for the start of pre-season because it's an important time of the year. I will be back with them on Tuesday when they are back in training with a view to going to Germany with them.

"My hopes are the same as every year, to be an Arsenal first-team player. Hopefully, this year, that will happen."

We need a CB, who is fit and ready for Saturday, and we need him now.

Ok - who should we sign then?

Can't blame Bartley for wanting to fight for a place at Arsenal. Returning to us was only ever going to happen if he doesn't make their EPL squad. Still worth taking if that happens IMO

this would suggest still very much deal on..

He also held fresh talks with Arsenal yesterday over another loan move for Kyle Bartley, but Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has yet to decide if he is willing to lose the player from his squad.

‘I have spoken to Arsene Wenger today and indeed to Kyle,’ said McCoist. ‘The position is very much the same as it was — Arsene will let me know as soon as he can. But that would probably be after the start of our season.’

The deal is not looking so good now.....

Bartley - I’m ready for the first team now

Kyle Bartley says he is ready to break into the Arsenal first team this season after making giant strides during his time at Rangers.

The commanding central defender was on the fringes of Arsène Wenger’s squad last summer but the manager decided another loan spell would be best for his development. Bartley headed to Sheffield United before making the switch to Rangers, where he excelled as the Scottish giants secured a League and Cup Double.

Now, after fine-tuning his game and learning a thing or two in the high-pressure environment of Ibrox, Bartley feels he has what it takes to be an Arsenal player.

“If I’m honest, I don’t think I was anywhere near the level to play for Arsenal last season,” he told Arsenal.com. “But I’ve come back, I feel really strong and I feel that I am ready now.

“I learned the demands of being at a top football club who are trying to win things and how important it is to be a champion and a winner. Every time you step on the pitch, you are going out there to win so there is a lot of pressure on you.

“I think I can offer something else [because] I am a little bit different to the other centre backs. I like the physical side of the game and I see myself as a leader. If Arsène decides that he wants me in the first team then that will be fantastic.”

Bartley wasn’t part of the squad that travelled to Asia because he had not fully recovered from a medial ligament injury sustained while north of the border.

He will link up with the first-team squad when they return to training on Tuesday and the 19-year-old is hoping to catch his manager’s eye ahead of this week’s trip to Germany.

“I spoke to the boss on the Friday before they left [for Asia] and he told me that they had four centre backs [going on the tour] and obviously I wasn’t fully over my injury yet. It’s just one of those things.

“It was always the aim to get back for the start of pre-season because it’s an important time of the year. I will be back with them on Tuesday when they are back in training with a view to going to Germany with them.

“He has said he doesn’t want me going on loan yet and he hasn’t made his mind up. My hopes are the same as every year, to be an Arsenal first-team player. Hopefully, this year, that will happen.”

I'm convinced Wenger acts like a stubborn git just to add more enemies to his ever growing list.

We all know that Bartley won't get a look in at Arsenal this season. He is just a stubborn bastard.

Wenger is an arrogant prick of a man. Also agree that Bartley won't get near Arsenal's first team squad this year.

Hate to say it as a Rangers supporter and an admirer of Wenger`s style of football and management, but I fail to understand why Asene thinks he has better, when it`s the defence and defensive midfield that lets his team down year after year, hence he should keep and play Kyle Bartley
