The Ref Last Night...

I maybe wrong and i've only seen the incident as it happened but i thought when there were 2 balls on the pitch at the same time the ref was supposed to stop play until the 2nd ball had been removed.

When Wallace let the ball run out of play thinking it was our throw in, when he realised it wasn't he walked onto the pitch with the ball still in his hands waiting to throw it to the maribor player however a ball boy threw another ball to the maribor player who took the throw in while Wallace still had the ball in his hands on the pitch so why did the ref play on letting them score their 2nd goal?

Wallace threw the ball back off, maybe if he chucked it on the pitch near the other ball play would have been stopped. There was no interference with play, so no need for a stoppage.

Wallace shoulve had the savvy to drop the ball into play, he might've got a yellow for it but better that than lose the goal and IMO we wouldnt be 2-1 down if he had forced the refs hand by doing so

This. A player with experience would realise he has his back turned to the ball and out of position he just throws the ball back onto the pitch and the referee has no option but to stop the game.

Exactly (tu)

It's certainly not the refs fault but Wallace should've been a bit more clever

Wallace did switch off, although he was probably thinking the fact he had the ball in his hands there would be no way they could take a quick throw. To be fair, that is actually correct by the laws of the game. The ref should not have allowed them to take a quick throw with a different ball while the original ball was still on the pitch.

That said, Wallace should still have had the savvy to throw the ball towards play to force the stoppage rather than just throw it off the pitch.

Two goals from our sleeping at throw ins is damning stuff though!
