We have two or three other midfield targets, but it's fair to say Edu is our No1 target for the midfield position."Sochaux are three points off the bottom of Ligue 1 and under-fire boss Mecha Bazdarevic is desperate to bolster his survival chances by landing three players during the transfer window.Edu — who has hit two goals in 24 appearances for Gers this season — is under contract until 2013.But sources close to the American say he could be sold on a move to France.Sochaux bosses were locked in talks last night as they prepare to return to Gers with an improved bid within 48 hours.Gilli added: "I cannot say if we have made an offer. We will be discussing transfer strategies with our president this evening."It's understood Sochaux are willing to stretch to £1million in their pursuit of Edu — money the troubled SPL champions might find hard to turn down.But any sale would be a slap in the face to Gers boss Ally McCoist, who has helped to rebuild Edu's confidence and career this season. Just because we paid over the odds for him doesn't mean anyone else will. He has only played a few good games this season, and before that everyone was saying how shite he is etc. & now people are saying he worth 3million? More than a fan - Edu has become a more distinguished player at Rangers with a better reputation than he had when he came, he also has his best days still ahead, how can we possibly accept less than we paid for him?
