At first, they were almost encouraging teams like Man Utd and Madrid to come in for him so he wouldn't leave for Bayern, not though they seem intent on not selling him to anybody. I think they're trying to show they aren't just a selling club and using it as an example for players like Gundogan, Reus and Hummels who will attract clubs also.
