Thompsons for the off

Recommended Posts

ALAN THOMPSON has been sensationally axed as Celtic first team coach.

The bombshell was delivered to Thommo in a phone call by gaffer Neil Lennon.

Thompson was last night said to be devastated at the decision weeks after the 38-year-old had helped the Hoops win their first SPL title in three years.

Thompson was cherry-picked from the Newcastle United academy by Lennon when the Northern Irishman was confirmed full-time in the Celtic manager’s role in 2010.

The pair had been team-mates under Martin O’Neill and Thompson was seen as a key coaching asset with Garry Parker and Johan Mjallby.

It’s as yet unclear if the move was dictated by the Parkhead board or if Lennon felt the time was right to part company.

Tarrriers reckon Steve Clarke will be his replacement.

steve clarke could work with the best teams in england, not a fucking prayer he will come up here

He's been wanting to move back up here for a while now, even applied for the St. Mirren job before Danny Lennon took it. So wouldn't completely rule it out.

I've heard things along these lines more than once, but I expected Mjalby to go before Thomson did.

I do also know you can usually find Thompson in the Corinthian casino out of his tits and not just on drink 10310.gif _________________________________

Raman on twitter confirms this.

Rumours that Steve Clarke to replace him? He'd be mad to work under that monkey.

The Liverpool 'experiment' dispelled the notion that Clarke had been the brains of the outfit at Chelsea, as was put about for a while.

'First title in THREE years'?

By my reckoning it's 4 since 2008......

Technically, they had the title until May 2009.

So it's 3 years, but 4 seasons. Still a strange thing to say though!

Good point!

These so and so's are clever with their words so they can make the tarriers look better!

It's still 4 years since they WON one before this year!

Steve Clarke applied for the Midden job? Really? I'm with others in thinking theres not a chance he'd come up here to work under anybody. could probably have any managers position up here if he wanted
