Rangers could hand a deal to former Real Madrid and Porto kid Sergey Kundik.

The 17-year-old Russian striker has been on trial with Gers’ youth side recently.

Now the rookie is on the verge of penning a deal that would see him extend his stay at Ibrox.

Kundik has had a well-travelled career despite his age.

He moved to Portugal from Siberia and signed for Porto when he was nine.

Spells at Leixoes then Boavista followed before he joined Spartak Moscow’s B team last December. Kundik switched to Real Madrid on a three-year deal in the summer, but was allowed to go on trial at Reading in September.

Kundik has won caps for Russia’s youth sides.

Rangers would be allowed to sign the player despite their transfer embargo as he is under 18.
