No more until others moved on..

ALLY McCOIST will have to kick-start a summer clearout if he wants to bring any more new stars in.

Rangers yesterday made Honduran midfielder Arnold Peralta their fifth signing of the summer.

But his arrival means Gers now have the maximum number of players aged 21 and over under SFL rules.

That means Ibrox boss McCoist will have to ship some of his Division Three champions on to free up space for any more additions.

Kane Hemmings and Neil Alexander are both out of contract and if the duo are released McCoist would be able to bring in players to replace them.

But beyond that he will have to look to move others out the door or send them on loan to free up more space as he prepares for Division Two next season.

As well as bringing in 24-year-old Peralta, Gers have signed Cammy Bell, Nicky Clark, Jon Daly and Nicky Law.

None of the new boys can be registered until September 1 due to Gers’ signing embargo.

So even if McCoist did land another new face who was 21 or over, Gers would not be in breach until they were formally added to his squad.

SFL rule 115.2 states: “A club shall be permitted to register at any one time up to a maximum of 22 players who have reached 21 on January 1 of the appropriate year”.

Peralta also becomes the second player from non-European Economic Area countries on the Ibrox books.

SFL rules state that a maximum of three players from EEA countries — the EU plus Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway — are allowed at a club.

American Carlos Bocanegra, set to return from his loan spell at Spanish outfit Racing Santander, is the only other Gers star who fits into that category as Brazilian Emilson Cribari has an Italian passport.

Meanwhile former Gers star Kyle Lafferty is set to team up with fellow Ibrox old boy Rino Gattuso once more as the Italian’s first signing for Palermo.

Lafferty has spent the season with Swiss side Sion, where Gattuso has been coach since the turn of the year.

AC Milan legend Gattuso has held talks with Palermo about taking charge of the Serie B club.

And if gets the job his first act will be to bring Northern Ireland striker Lafferty, 25, to the Sicilian outfit.

This '21 and over rule' could turn out to be an absolute blessing.

Don't know why Gattuso would make Lafferty his top priority coz he's shite! Not only is Lafferty a shite footballer but he seems like a cunt of a guy. Bad move Rino.

How would we get Cribari, Black, and Shiels off the books? All these players are under contract. Shiels still has 3 years to run on his contract.

No one is going to come in and give these guys the money we're paying. Not on the strength of last years performances. We can't afford to pay them all off either. Think you'll find these lads are staying right were they are.

No way is Gattuso signing Lafferty. He could look at signing someone like Weiss rather than fucking Lafferty. If we think some of McCoist's signings are bad then I hope Gattuso doesn't get the Ibrox hotseat going by his record so far :anguish:

Alexander - Still a very good keeper but with Bell coming in we could save a lot of money by getting him off the wage bill.

Cole - Never fit and spends most of his time on holiday.

Goian - Wages far too much for SFL 2. Not needed.

Bocanegra - Same as above.

Cribari - Useless.

Perry - Same as above.

Faure - Not impressed by him from what I have seen.

Argyriou - The Greek Forrest Gump.

Hutton - Never very good and with Peralta and Law coming in I don't see him getting many games.

Hemmings - Never fit.

Naismith - Hopeless.

They are the players I would like to see go.
