A Rangers fan is serving a 6 months sentence for expressing an opinion on a Celtic bigot.

Two Rangers fans are serving five years, not because of what they did but because a Scottish jury and a Scottish appeal Judge decided they could interpret the thoughts of the accused and decided they believed they committed a crime.

We are the only fans that have to be careful what we say and sing.

That legislation is a horrific, draconian piece to tackle a percieved issue which simply isn't that important in the long run. The law is what should be getting challenged, these people that have been locked up, shouldn't have been.

Ok, so what's your plan? Is there one in place to challenge these haters? Has anyone attempted to challenge the law at the Scottish parliament via an MP? Or is it just going to continue in the same vein with pointless blogging and sending complaints to bbc etc?

At risk of being reminded how well this has worked in the past, we need to make up some kind of petition. We need to talk to our local MPs. And yes, we need to discuss with fans of other clubs. We need to bring it up with our own club. We need to tell Westminster and Holyrood and anyone who will listen. We need people to bring it up on social media. We need the people to see that fans on both sides are being criminalised.

I don't see how fighting this will get more bears brought to court and losing their jobs.

This idea that we're the only ones being targeted by this legislation isn't really true either.

The more people get convicted with this, the more of a precedent it sets and the more likely it is to stay. That's what I think anyway.
