It just goes to show you need a wee bit of luck on your side.

Yep, I'm not keen on calling it luck but look at Lewis MacLeod, who knows where he'd be had the last couple of years not went how they did. He had a full first team midfield and a fair number of young players ahead of him in the pecking order and could very easily have been another player released by Rangers but now he's on track to be an important part of our team next season and one of the few players most people expect to be one of the first names on the sheet when we're back challenging for the Premiership.

Smith made a limited but decent contribution last season. Concern about failing to spot and sign young talent is fair enough but Smith is a good enough backup

not for next season however, there is plenty in our squad that are not good enough for the top league and worryingly we need to rebuild quite a bit for next season

A great example. Fate stepped in and gave him his chance. (tu)

We were already planning to play him before we got demoted, he was definitely on the bench at least once in the 11/12 season.

There were far too many ahead of him for him to have got anything like the amount of game time he's had with us now though, that's the point, it's a twist of fate that has led to him establishing himself as a player for us.

You have to wonder if Rhys McCabe, Jamie Ness and Gregg Wylde had also used that logic, 2 years of their young careers to develop their game at a huge clubN), get 80 odd games and either get a move when they were ready or be prepared to help this club back into the top flight, either way it seems like a no brainer
