Madrid v Bayern

G.E.C.

It's not ridiculous at all, why should the rules be different just because it's a final?

Because the Champions League final is the biggest match of the season, bringing together the two best teams in Europe. It should be the ultimate footballing spectacle. Football exists to entertain, and ruling people out of such a big match for something so trivial is bad for football.

 Cheers. Wasn't having a go, just meant in general. Often see opinions change at the drop of a hat.

You're right about people changing opinions, I don't see how that relates to bipolar disorder though. Never mind...fuck Bayern.

Nonsense.

Define 'trivial'? If someone puts in a horrendous challenge and breaks an opponents leg but the referee only deems it a booking you're saying they should get away with it?

Where do you stop? Do you do the same for derbies? They're footballing spectacles. Domestic cup finals? Title deciders?

Ridiculous point.

The referee not giving a red card for a red card offense has absolutely nothing to do with it. Missing the biggest match of the season because of an accumulation of disciplinary points is bad for the sport. It reduces the spectacle of the final. Fans don't like it, managers don't like it, clubs don't like it, players don't like it.

Yellow card accumulation across the tournament should never rule a player out of the final of a knockout competition.
