I'd prefer Miller to Daly but ideally neither of them should be at Ibrox.

There must be a younger player (even a free transfer) out there that could do a better job than them and on half the wages.

If money isn't a motivator, which going by that article it isn't, then I think this will prove to be a good signing over the course of his two year deal.

We can bitch and moan about how uninspired our targets are, but with a non existent scouting department there is only so much you can do.

As predictable as ever. The manager going back for an ex player, one of his mates instead of looking to the future.

Kenny Miller had scored a pitiful 15 goals in the last three seasons. The pace he once had is no longer there.

He will be 35 this year.

McCoist should be removed from his position before he wastes more valuable wages/money.

It's 2014 - McCoist is still stuck in 2008.

This is partly a by product of having no scouting system.

Although it's still a terrible decision.

Better than what we have? Probably.

What we need going forward? No.

Is there better out there that would probably cost less wage wise? I believe so.

Is it a good signing? IMO like most of our signings for the last two years it's unnecessary.

Ally McCoist is not daft, he watches plenty football, has many friends and links around Britain and the world. Having no scouting network is a complete and utter disgrace but it's no excuse for chasing Kenny Miller.

Possibly heading into seasons 2014/15 then 2015/16 with Miller and Boyd up front. FFS, that was a good partnership 6 years ago.

McCoist is killing the football side of our club, absolutely ruining it. The man that replaces him is going to have one hell of a renovation job on his hands.

This is a total farce, we should have beeen looking forward and building a young squad for getting back into the premier league but now by the time we get there we are going to have an old squad which will no doubt cost a fotune to replace and try and challange them. The main problem being we dont have money, this sums up the boards and McCoist's incompetence

KENNY MILLER will become a Rangers player for the third time after negotiating his release from MLS club Vancouver Whitecaps last night.

The former Scotland striker has struck a two-year deal with Gers boss Ally McCoist that will see him spearhead the Ibrox challenge to win the Championship next season.

And McCoist will try to restore Miller’s strike partnership with Kris Boyd when the Kilmarnock hitman’s contract expires at the end of the season.

No contact has been made out of respect to Boyd and his club as they battle to beat the drop.

But at the end of the campaign McCoist, who has been told he will have the same budget as this season, will move for the 20-goal striker after out-of-contract players are cut from the Ibrox wage bill. The deal for 34-year-old Miller is all but signed and the formalities will be concluded now he is a free agent.

And Record Sport can reveal Miller was so keen to return to Rangers he agreed a wage packet that is less than deals given to players such as Sebastien Faure and Arnold Peralta by former chief executive Charles Green.

Announcing he was leaving Vancouver last night, Miller said: “The club wanted to go in one direction, I wanted to go in another direction.”

Meanwhile, McCoist has revealed Rangers players and staff won’t receive a penny for winning League One – even though chief executive Graham Wallace stands to rake in a £315,000 bonus.

The Ibrox gaffer admits it’s “unusual” for a title-winning side not to be rewarded but insists neither he nor his stars want any extra cash.

However, CEO Wallace will collect a 100 per cent bonus on top of his £315,000 salary if “business targets” have been met. The Englishman will also pick up £25,000 courtesy of Gers being crowned champions.

McCoist said: “The players won’t receive any sort of bonus at all for winning the league. It was the same last year and that includes the management staff.

“In football that’s quite unusual but our lads haven’t mumped and moaned about it.

“It’s frustrating that we’re doing our jobs but there still seems to be a lot of uncertainty surrounding the club.”
