POLICE were called to Port Glasgow after ex Rangers and Scotland star Andy Goram was allegedly hit by a spectator after a charity football match.

The former Ibrox no.1 was taking part in an Old Firm legends match at Parklea on Friday night.

One eyewitness said: “Andy Goram was hit over the head — or slapped over the head — by a spectator as he was leaving the playing field.”

Police confirmed they were called but officers have today said it was a ‘minor incident’.

Sergeant Allan O’Hare said: “We got a call at 9.40pm on Friday of reports that one of the goalkeepers had been punched, allegedly Andy Goram.

“He was spoken to and said he wasn’t assaulted. He said he was slapped on the head while signing autographs.”

People seem to think the Port is all tims but we have a Rangers supporters club and 2 lodges.

Can you say the same for your town?

Up until the last 3/4 years we had 4 separate supporters buses running from our wee town.

My brother was there, Goram got the nugget by the scruff of the neck apparently. Fuck all worth worrying about.
