govanblue 16,847
So anyway, I was looking for the RCF Lucky Legends Prize Draw news article.I didn't find it, but I did find this...http://www.rangersch...d=524&Itemid=71The Rangers Charity Foundation hopes to provide some extra assistance in the lead up to Christmas for those struggling to make ends meet by supporting our local Food Bank.Over the last few months staff and supporters have generously backed our initiative with the Glasgow South West Food Bank and have donated thousands of non-perishable food items for people in crisis in the local community. If you would like to help in the lead up to Christmas, the Food Bank is particularly keen to receive some festive items such as:• selection boxes for kids,• Christmas puddings,• tinned meat,• tinned potatoes and veg• other festive items such as Christmas crackers.I missed that, and donations were due on 6th Dec, so it's too late for me to donate a tin of custard. So feeling bad about missing that, I got to thinking about that £353.74 that's been sitting in the Teddy Bears' Fund gathering dust, and thinking that we could maybe use some of it to buy some selection boxes for the Glasgow South West Food Bank?If you think that's a good idea, can anyone hook us up with a cost-price deal for say £100 of selection boxes? I'm sure I won't be asked to do the honours again, I picked Namibian Bear out last time.

govanblue 16,847
Fernando Ricksen Testimonial Match TicketsSo I put the word out to Erskine, Combat Stress and Quarriers that we had tickets available for the Fernando Ricksen game. The response has been better than expected...Erskine:Unfortunately the match is at the exact same time as the Erskine Burns Supper Celebrations, which is a major event in the Erskine Calendar, usually attended by all. But despite that, there are still a few Veterans who would much rather be at our party than theirs. So the RM Erskine Lunch Fund will provide the 13 tickets needed to the 3 homes. (6 Veterans, 6 Carers, 1 Driver. Erskine Mains, Erskine Bishopton, Erskine Glasgow)cost: £138 - RM Erskine Lunch FundCombat StressThe Residents (and staff) of Hollybush House were delighted with our offer, and this game seems to have captured their imagination. They put a list round and it came back with 23 names on it. (it's a 25 bed hospital!)So virtually the whole hospital will be at Ibrox that day - burglars take note.(They also have a couple of new residents coming in next week, so we'll give them 24 for now, and more if they need them)cost: £288 - RM Sponsors' Ticket FundQuarriers StopoverAs mentioned above, we'll be providing 24 tickets to Quarriers Stopover for all 14 Residents plus another group they work closely with (I forget exactly, I'll get the details later) plus some staff. So again, burglars take note - another empty building. cost: £288 - RM Teddy Bears' FundSo in total, RM Fund Donors will be providing 62 tickets for the game Total cost: £726And of course, all proceeds from those ticket sales will be going to Fernando's 4 charities.
