Captain Hilts 12,819
thought this was worth sharing, probably more out of hope than expectation SunSport understands Mike Ashley is pushing for a managerial reshuffle at Ibrox which would see Ally McCoist losing his current job.The Englishman has sent feelers out to former Rangers manager Alex McLeish and former player Stuart McCall about fronting a new management team at Ibrox. McLeish, currently manager at Belgian side Genk, would act as Director of Football with former Motherwell manager McCall taking up the role of Head Coach.Ashley has voiced his disappointment over the club's performances despite the large wage bill held by the squad. He feels the lack of spark on the pitch will heavily affect the brand, forecasting poor merchandise sales even if they did earn promotion back to the Scottish Premiership. He has instructed Ibrox advisor Derek Llambias to get the majority of the board on side with his plan as he looks to tighten his grip further on the Scottish Championship side. Ashley hopes to relieve McCoist of managerial duties and have the board offer him a seat at the table.
SpidermansGaffer 2,552
Is this in tomorrow's paper?
theiconicman 2,991
So we sack him but put him in the Board? Bullshit. He at least has qualifications from the SFA to coach, he has none for sitting on a Board.
RangersMedia 35,961
I really, really doubt the Sun have any idea what Ashley's plans are. In years of being in charge at Newcastle he's defied everything the media have written - all the shit about Pardew etc.
6superbarry6 14,159
Please be true, not too sure about McCall and Eck but would take pretty much anyone but Ally
legalbeagle 3,734
Dear God, the last manager who finished behind Hearts to help us try to avoid finishing below Hearts and a guy who struggled with the pressure of managing Motherwell, super. trueblueal 2,117
Ok i could sort of get on board with this. I am all for a DOF and a young head coach. I guess I'm underwhelmed by the names which seem a bit same old. Let's see what transpires.
theweebluenose 4,332
Mere speculation, would take McCall as a Manager but Eck as DOF? Considering some of the donkeys he signed I'd pass.

Captain Hilts 12,819
Dear God, the last manager who finished behind Hearts to help us try to avoid finishing below Heartshe also won us 7 trophies in 4 and a half years, including a domestic treble, and also got us to the last 16 of the Champions League.but of course, what does that matter..... Skyson1872 2,923
Dear God, the last manager who finished behind Hearts to help us try to avoid finishing below Hearts and a guy who struggled with the pressure of managing Motherwell, super.Where did you hear that he left because he couldn't handle the pressure? As far as I knew he left because he had no answers after overachieving the previous 3 seasons. Eck done a decent job whilst downsizing like fuck, just what we need. Both know rangers standards too. trueblueal 2,117
I was rather hoping for Wotte and Gio, or Advocaat and De Boer but i'll give anything a chance that isn't Kinnear and Wise!!

Blumhoilann 6,712
A board seat to avoid a big pay off?Would give McCall a go.Don't know about McLeish, signed some duffers aswell.
KingKirk 25,647
Mere speculation, would take McCall as a Manager but Eck as DOF? Considering some of the donkeys he signed I'd pass.We don't need 6/7 new faces tho 3/4 quality signings for next season would be enough
Frank Reynolds 3,359
Dear God, the last manager who finished behind Hearts to help us try to avoid finishing below Hearts and a guy who struggled with the pressure of managing Motherwell, super.Name one thing McCoist has done as a manager that beats anything Eck did? Clemdog 39,389
We'll just have to wait and see. Fairly easy assumption to make, especially the two names mentioned. Not sure about that 'line-up'McCall would be a good FT Coach/Assistant Manager though, in my opinion. Clemdog 39,389
To be fair, about this article, Ashley doesn't take kindly to lies being printed about him. A couple of guys on the Sunday Supplement have said as much, being banned from Newcastle's press conferences etc for lies being printed, and or less.So I can't see them doing it just to fill space.
