Fined £7,300 by UEFA for fireworks in their last away game in Zagreb, the Parkhead club appealed to supporters to behave after an eighth UEFA fine in as many years. Public appeals by coach Ronny Deila for self policing were ignored, however, when pyrotechnics were clearly evident in the top tier of the San Siro during the 49th minute of the 1-0 defeat. A flare is lit in the Celtic end during the Europa League clash with Inter Milan at the San Siro Celtic players look dejected after conceding a late goal at the San Siro on Thursday night ‘That’s very disappointing,’ said Deila afterwards. ‘We have to get rid of this, it’s nothing to do with football. The fans were unbelievable today but, again, they have to behave in the right way.’ In contrast with the authorities in Scotland, UEFA operate a strict liability policy, which punishes clubs for the actions of their supporters. Celtic reacted to their latest fine this week by releasing a statement urging supporters to stop damaging the club’s reputation in Europe. Laudrup1984 25,100
Wonder if Stan will be starting a petition to get them taken off Sky on Sunday!Don't be daft. Flares are harmless mate. What possible risk to public safety could flares bring? Songs, however, well they can set you on fire and leave your ears burning, if some reports are to believed. And give them a break, they've only been warned pretty much every year for the pass decade......Personally, i'd strip them of all their tainted titles and advocate the reintroduction of the death penalty for any such crime....... They'll probably get another slap on the wrists and bring out their made up best fans in the world pish..............pricks!Plus, i'd wager that every timmy and their granny will be tuned into our game, ears millimetres from the screen, volume full blast, frigging their sisters, gagging to be offended tonight to take the heat of themselves, and no doubt the media will oblige in this farce..... OlegKuznetsov 10,816
They cannae say "Juan Guy" now, unless Commons was in the stands wi the sparklers and lighter before going to the bench.I wonder if any of these unruly players were Griffiths, Tonev or another as yet unnamed bigot (Stokes), being racist again. That persecution complex is getting them into trouble.Did anyone watch it and were there any unacceptable (to UEFA, e.g. sectarian terms, terrorist )songs?
