GraP 1
Could he do a job as captain? Me personally I think he could do a job as captain done well with hearts. Maybe with eustace as vice.

mclovin9091 1,408
Agree with preacher, we need someone experienced who knows how to drag that extra 10% of effort out of the guys in the last 15-20 mins of every game.
Smile 26,624
Better him than Eustace as he's signed a three year contract Eustace is meant to be a one year deal plus he's not going to be fit for the start of the season.
BigAmo'sThighs 848
Give it to Law and put strobe lighting on it with an inbuilt GPS tracker... Maybe then we'd catch a glimpse of him

ps95v7 387
will he stay around long enough before he uses his get out clause when bigger teams come calling " and he can further his career"
Ryan_1 1,136
I'm not entirely sold on him as a player long term, so a no for me.I would understand giving the captaincy to Eustace, but for me I'd like to see it given to a player who's going to be a mainstay in the side for the next five years (in theory). JR 1,480
This time next year perhaps, but not for me atm.
Courtyard Bear 41,357
Yes for me, I would rather he was Captain than a 35 year old who doesn't know a thing about us and will probably struggle to play every game this season.
TMB 14,167
I thought this is why we were signing Eustace. He is experienced, a leader on and off the pitch, he's vocal, and he's at the center of the pitch.

He is experienced, a leader on and off the pitch, he's vocal, and he's at the center of the pitch.This. I'd expect him to be the leader for this year with a view to someone taking the role permanently next season. By then Warburton would've used Eustace to help implement his methods and instil his vision and systems. Then someone like Wikson would take over for the foreseeable future. That's what I second guess as Warburton's thinking.
GraP 1
Eustace might only be captain for one year so don't know what would be better him for a year then Wilson or Wilson with him backing him up for a year.
ForeverBlue1872 463
Eustace as captain and Danny vice captain.
Leeds_Bear 8,308
Regardless we're going to need more than one leader this season.
Guardian 4,281
Are we going to get one of these threads making them captain every time somebody signs ?I'd have thought the management would make that decision once they know (or are fairly sure) who will be in their team. Ozblue 4,332
If the manager thinks he's the best man for the job then that's fine by me.By rights every Rangers player on that park should be a 'Captain' urging all the other players to give as much as they have got from the first minute to the final whistle. WilliamFyfe 1,438
If he's a good leader then I'd make him captainI wouldn't make Lee Wallace captain that's for sure
ChampionsAgain 1,373
Eustace Wallace then Wilson I think,
Ozblue 4,332
Sounds good in theory but too many big characters with ego in a team tends to cause more harm than good.I think you and I have a different view on the meaning of "Captain" young fella.Being a Rangers player or Captain of Rangers should have nothing to do with ego....it has everything to do with urging on your team mates to do their best for Rangers.Over the years from when I first started going to Ibrox we have had big characters all playing in the same team, such as Ian McColl, Sammy Cox, Willie Woodburn, big Corky Young,Willie Waddell, etc. Then in the era of Eric Caldow,Captain Cutlass, Harold Davis, Jim Baxter, Willie Stevenson, Jimmy Miller, Ronnie McKinnon, Davie Provan etc all these players acted like a Captain on the park and did more good than harm. The Captain certainly has a bit more authority in a team, but egos should be left in the dressing rooms and I'm sure Mark Warburton knows what he's doing. WilliamFyfe 1,438
Wilson: It would be a great honour. Ive been a captain before and I know that as a captain you need players around you that can help you. Whoever the captain is decided to be, Ill make sure Im there to support them every step of the way.I think he'd made a great captain Wallace was shite as captain when he got it last year
