I honestly didnt know there was a difference!

What is the difference?

Being arrested is on suspicion of a crime,

Being charged means police think they have enough evidence that you are guilty, then it's up to the courts (unless you don't appeal)

Hopefully the cunt will be formally charged in due course

Arrested is when you are detained for the purpose of questioning. Charged is when they have enough evidence to be confident that they can bring it before a court and get a conviction correct me if im wrong but along those lines

You realise he's in court tomorrow for it right? He's been charged you fucknut.

They arrest you to futher investigate a complaint, which they already have enough evidence to allow them to detain you for a certain period. During the period of questioning if they feel they have enough to put before the fiscal and then court they charge.

Simple

detained for questioning is actually called 'detained for questioning' whereas arrested is under a charge and will appear in court - probably tomorrow morning.

A lot of people mistaking the meaning of "Charged".

Being charged with a crime doesn't mean that you are guilty of it.

Don't mistake charged with convicted.

I'd assume plod think they have put a good case together with a great chance of conviction otherwise they are going to look a bit stupid charging them.

After all its taken them years to get this far.

No they think there is enough evidence of a crime under our law.

The PF decides whether there is enough to put them into court and what for.

it will be interesting to hear what these clowns have to say for themselves. To honestly think they could get away with it at a football club which is so closely scrutinised by the media, opposition supporters and a huge number of our own support is beyond me.

Craig Whyte arrested on charges relating to the buyout of Rangers from liquidation in 2012

CRAIG Whyte was tonight arrested over his involvement with Rangers Football Club.

The 44-year-old has been detained in custody and is expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court tomorrow on charges relating to the buyout of Rangers from liquidation in 2012.

A police spokesman said: "Police Scotland can confirm a 44-year-old man has been arrested and is presently detained in police custody in connection with an ongoing investigation into an alleged fraudulent acquisition of Rangers FC in 2012.

"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."

The former owner of the Ibrox side – who led the club into administration and liquidation in 2012 – had earlier been driven into Govan Police Station in Glasgow’s Helen Street by an unmarked police car at around 6.30pm.

Whyte is one of three former Rangers figures to be arrested today as part of the same investigation.

Former chief executive Charles Green – who took over Rangers after Whyte – and David Whitehouse, the managing director of Duff and Phelps which ran the club's administration in 2012, are the other two and are also expected to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court tomorrow.

The Record understands police had carried out a dawn raid at Whyte’s home.

But after realising he wasn’t there, contact was made with his lawyer to make arrangements to speak to him.

Whyte then travelled to Glasgow where he handed himself over to police at an undisclosed location before being taken to Helen Street where he was questioned and then arrested.

When Whyte arrived at the police station, his lawyer, Paul Kavanagh, said: “Craig is surprised to have been asked to come in, but he has been happy to do so.

“At the moment he genuinely doesn’t know what the police want to speak to him about, though clearly it is in connection with Rangers.

“All I can say at this point is that my client is keen for this case to be heard so that he can clear his name and show that he hasn’t done anything wrong.”

And he predicted future court proceedings relating to the Rangers takeover would be one would be one of the biggest in Scottish legal history.

Cavanagh said: “I think this is going to be one of the biggest cases we have ever seen, certainly in the last 30 years or so.

“In terms of the amount of material and the depth of that material, it could be bigger than Lockerbie, it obviously isn’t as important as Lockerbie, but it is huge in terms of the amount of information.

“I now have 100,000 sheets of paper sitting in the office containing all the information that has been disclosed by the Crown.

“There is an enormous amount of information that has been gathered in terms of witness statements and other data.

“My client is confident however that he has done nothing wrong and he wants Rangers fans to see that so he is keen for things to progress as quickly as possible and he is keen to answer any questions put to him.”

It's not over until it's over. Here's hoping ...

If we are relying on Police Scotland to do us any favours or the justice system to mete out a suitable punishment for the goings on in our club over the last few years.

We are in for a big disappointment.

These bastards will have the non stick excuses at the ready.

It's not as if it's their first time cheating folk IMO, so how did they get off with their previous escapades.

This is just my opinion but who have we got on our side, and that brings me back to?

Police Scotland.

Good luck old bill, just don't fancy your chances.
