AlCapone 7,678
I don't think it's as unachievable as you think to get say 60k. When we are back in the PL chasing titles and European runs. If the Rangers marketing team could work on the 'matchday experience' along with a dedicated standing area........I could go on forever but it could be done.Mate we had a capacity of 50k for 20 years and haven't managed 1 season where we averaged 50k. Two issues here, the cost would be many many millions to get 3-4 games a year where you might sell an extra 10k seats which wouldn't even get you a million pound a season extra revenue. No return on investment for your outlay. The second point is season tickets, scarcity of seats forces people to pay money up front for the ST. An extra 10k seats takes away the scarcity and the need to buy a ST in advance for many.

Are you happy playing 2nd fiddle financially? Do you not think the biggest club in the land should have the biggest stadium and ability to earn the most money? They can't fill their stadium, and they have had 4 straight cracks at the CL, what makes you think we could? And Al is right, it's supply and demand, the more seats available, the less reason for people to buy season tickets, and that doesn't make financial sense. Far more return than 2 big TVs screens that bring nothing to the stadium. All that money spent on jumbo screens just so I can see highlights of the last time we played Dumbarton. To be fair, when I was posting I was thinking more about the cosmetic side, I think the screens are an absolute eye sore and have thought that from day 1. I think we are a bigger club with a bigger domestic fanbase and the club sold right could easily manage a bigger ground. It wouldn't have to sell out every week. The tarriers stadium has played a huge role in making them the financial monster in Scottish football. It's an enormous handicap for us. We can leave it there. Some folk think we need a bigger ground, some don't. C'est la vie amigo.

Sweetheart 8,458
My upgrade would be for the club to sign up to the government energy savings trust scheme, who would fit solar panels to the roof. The clubs energy bills would be reduced and any excess energy made can be sold back to the national grid. http://www.energysavingtrust.org.uk/blog/2015/11/solar-powered-football-stadiums

bluegecko 306
I understand we're in line for funding from the GCC to renovate the area surrounding Ibrox. There was a deal between gcc and Murray around the time we were trying to get the super casino licence. It would be tied in with hotels shops restaurants and new approach to the ground like Wembley way kind of thing. They would still be open to helping us achieve some forms of regeneration
