He is a superb defensive midfielder, breaking up so many attacks by just being in right place at right time. He is however , imo, limited going forward for the most part and rarely poses a goal threat. There is also the problem caused by most of the team thinking everything needs to go through him, ignoring many options to break forward but instead always looking to pass to Rice. To be in the top class of midfielders he really need to do more offensively to match his defensive work.
