Gaz52 11,837
They spent £51.5m in transfer fees alone in the summer Fair enough they sold some players but their net spend is still sitting around £39.4m, which is unreal for a Championship side. They currently sit 19th in the Championship, 15 points adrift of leaders Huddersfield and not looking like closing that gap anytime soon. They will maybe make the play-offs if they're lucky. It's not even like they've signed bad players, they just can't seem to click (ring any bells?!) what a state they're in, Champions League winning manager at the helm, £13m strikers running about, can't score against Preston. They need the engine ripped out and started again from scratch! Proof that you can't just chuck money at a club to fix them, it takes real hard work
MasterD 7,457
Wish I'd stuck money on RDM to be sacked by Christmas. It was an absolute certainty.

Yeah plus they've been doing well with their attendances so they will have a lot of money. I just think with the amount they've spent they should be looking at top 6 at the very very least. kaiser1041 9,107
That's what happens when you give tarriers a chance to manage the club. the damage is permanent

He looks quite happy twitching his way through BTSport live games, in the studio. I think he's on their Saturday afternoon programme?

there'sonlyoneamoruso 1,724
Villa have been a shambles for years. Di Matteo was never a good fit forthe club and they should have got Nigel Pearson (who may become available if the Derby owner decides to get rid). What they need is a period of stability, and a total overhaul of the club. They won't get it due to the mad panic to get back into the EPL. I can see them sliding into the 3rd tier. They have tried that this season, even though it's been an incredibly poor start. You contrast that with Rodgers who has had a good domestic start to the season and just beat Man City in the CL final and he hasn't been linked with one yet... Call me paranoid
