Incredible we were regularly spending over £10m a season 20 odd year ago (pre-Advocaat), with football inflation that's probably the equivalent to 4 or 5 times that in today's money. Walter always had a bit of coin to spend, even in second spell he got £45m over a few seasons. Sir Walters the greatest we ever had but even he spent a fortune on players over the years . 4. Big eck done an incredible job at the time actually making a profit in transfers (unheard of) while leading our club to a treble against one of the mhanky mobs beat sides in years . 5.
