Been waiting for a performance like that from him. When he played for hearts in the cup final against us he was a standout for them. Has come close to it a few times and hoping that’s him giving us that standard from now on.

I reckon there’s a wee bit of improvement left in him, he’s obviously benefiting from a run games with little to no fitness issues.  

Looks like a Rangers Captain in waiting at this time.

A wee bit of improvement isn’t enough for him to be guaranteed a starting 11 position, so unless that changes and it’s a big improvement, he should never be considered for the captaincy.

Looks very much to me like he is guaranteed a starting position this season. 
 

Also I should’ve mentioned that imo we need a new captain asap and right now he’s showing up to be the most suitable from what we have available.

Yeah, atm, he does. We need better though in centre defence. Now if he plays as well as he apparently did last night, in most matches, and cuts out the howlers he's liable to, then he'll be good enough.

I don’t doubt we need better in centre defence but we are not getting anyone better in so we need to make the most of what we have.  
 

The formation/system isn’t doing anyone any favours so until that is altered and the captain is replaced then it’s as you were unfortunately.

He's our best centre half by a distance so unless that changes he's a guaranteed starting 11 position.

Not surprised by this. Reckon you could easily find some clips of john souttar and make him look like Maldini... the problem is you could also easily find clips and make him look like Darren Dods.

That's where I am with Souttar as well.

He's capable of excellent defensive performances, but can be inconsistent. When he has a bad game, he goes all in on it.
