KYLE LAFFERTY has become Rangers' second official signing of the summer so far after the deal bringing him to Ibrox was concluded this evening.

The 20-year-old follows fellow forward Kenny Miller to the Light Blues and they will be joined by Andrius Velicka when he becomes a Gers player on July 14.

Lafferty has moved for a fee in excess of £3million and penned a five-year contract with the club, tying him to Walter Smith's side until the end of the 2012/13 season.

The Northern Ireland international first came to light when he debuted for Burnley in a 2-1 defeat at Crewe Alexandra in August 2005.

He was soon sent on loan to Darlington and scored three times in nine games for them before returning to Turf Moor to net his first goal for the Clarets against Luton.

In total, Lafferty scored 10 times for Burnley before his long-projected move to Glasgow was confirmed today.

The 6' 4" youngster has also claimed five goals in 16 appearances for his country against Finland, Sweden, Liechtenstein and twice against Georgia.

His work-rate has been cited as a major factor in David Healy's magnificent goals return for the Province.

And it is clear Rangers - who have beaten off interest from other leading clubs to land Lafferty - have secured themselves a player with great potential.

Gers' latest recruit will meet his new team-mates when they gather at Murray Park for the start of pre-season training next week.

When the new campaign begins, he will then challenge Miller, Velicka, Kris Boyd, Daniel Cousin, Jean-Claude Darcheville and Nacho Novo for a place up front.

No mention of Gow?

So gow can go for free now?

FFS.

No one said that mate. He is still in talks with Burnley, but now that he isn't part of the Lafferty deal I am sure he will go for some money. Maybe around £750,000 to 1 million????

welcome to the gers, hopefully he wil hit the ground running!!!!now we need to get rid of the dead wood and buy a midfiedler who has a touch of class about him.......wont be easy on our budget, but if u get rid of adam, lee m, cousin, hemdani, jcd, buffel, gow, and dnt go for davis for 3 mill, use this money wisely and buy a quality midefielder for 4-5million.
