More video proof of Celtic fans chanting IRA slogans

Hello, this is my first post, I'm a Liverpool fan and I joined these boards to support you against the accusations from Celtic. I am sick of Celtic fans portraying themselves as lily white innocent non-sectarian fans when plainly they are not.

I was born and brought up in Portadown which has seen more than its fair share of attacks from the IRA. I now live in England. A few days ago a Celtic supporter started a topic abut "racist Rangers" , so I stepped in to add my views. The point I made was that Celtic fans ARE sectarian because they sing IRA chants and that the IRA had a 30 year murderous campaign targeting Protestants. I gave examples of atrocities that were aimed at Protestants (Enniskillin, Tullyvallen Orange Hall, LaMon House Hotel, Kingsmills to name only a few). I also posted links to video clips proving that Celtic fans chanted IRA slogans

there are other clips on youtube if you follow links from these examples

I can post the replies of the deluded Celtic supporter, who continuously denied that the IRA were sectarian that they were instead freedom fighters. I pointed out that regardless of his opinion, the IRA had murdered thousands of innocent people and destroyed many more lives of those who had been injured by their explosions. He refused to acknowledge that chanting IRA slogans was offensive. At this stage I pointed at that the IRA had bombed Warrington the day before Mothers Day killing a 3 year old boy and an 11 year old Liverpool fan and how dare he come to a Liverpool website and claim that IRA slogans were OK. Later that day the thread was deleted, but I have the replies of the Celtic fan in my email. They make telling reading.

He admits that abusing orangemen and protestants is wrong, but fails to see that murdering them is wrong too.

If I can help in any way by posting the emails, I am happy to do so. I firmly believe that Celtic are on the ropes and that they scored an own goal with their ridiculous accusations.

Good luck with your fight and let me know what I can do to help.

PS A good number of Liverpool fans backed my views against Celtic, so you are not alone.

Thanks for that Sandra, in an ideal world this sort of thing would be appearing on Reprting Scotland but it seems the completely impartial BBC are determined to defend septic's "good name" at all costs.

Hope you don't move away from Anfield, I'd love to go down and see the Kop one day (tu)

gosh, a quick trawl through youtube should uncover some more. I'll have a look. We need fans to come up with more evidence, the Old Trafford Celtic Champions League game would be a good start. Apparently they annoyed a lot of people there last time , especially as the IRA had bombed the Trafford Centre.

As for the racism allegations, I have a work colleague who is a Muslim from Pakistan who regularly goes to games including the Uefa cup final Hes never had any bother from Rangers fans and I'm sure he'd testify to that.

Keep up the fight, we are nailing them and they are rattled

Just been on youtube and all the videos are still there, apologies, maybe my link was wrong. They are easy to find on youtube; search "celtic fans". A user called RedZinc has nine videos, all with Celtic fans chanting IRA slogans and one in particular where Tottenham fans are attacked. I've added him as a friend and hopefully he/she will help.

Must go now, but let me know if you want the emails that the Celtic fan sent me. :bye:

so much for the "speshul" relationship with liverpool and anyone else they think all adore them

I met a scouser (Liverpool supporter) on holiday... he said that Liverpool is full of prodies and that he loved going marching on the 12th... the relationship between the celic and Liverpool is only known to celic fans..

Thanks to everyone for the welcome. The IRA chants by Celtic is something that I feel very strongly about, and I'll do whatever it takes to help expose the unacceptable behaviour of Celtic fans. The Tottenham footage in particular was shocking, particularly when the metropolitan police were standing watching them, so why they weren't arrested for inciting religious hatred is beyond me.

In the first instance I'll be writing directly to Celtic Football club demanding an explanation, secondly I'm going to email Gregory Campbell to support him, and thirdly some of us should go on the Manchester United forums and ask for support before the Champions League game. I know for a fact that Celtic fans pissed off a lot of United fans by singing IRA chants, particularly when the IRA bomb was so recent; I bet they do it again, and if we can get the evidence, the Scottish FA won't be able to sweep it under the carpet. An email to the Metropolitan police might be an idea as well.

Thanks again for the welcome.

A quick search and you will find the banana story with our hero Mark Walters.

Still pisses me off the other week i had to tell someone that it was the scum that did it not us to our OWN player.

To help the close season pass a bit quicker, I did quite a bit of reading and I was very impressed by Archie Macpherson's 'Flower Of Scotland?' which covers Scottish football's goings-on over the period 1965-2005.

And Oul Erchie's account of Mark Walters' debut at the Cesspit back in 1988 certainly caught my eye. 'Sadly in Walters' first game at Celtic Park the first thing I noticed when he approached the famous Jungle underneath our commentary position was that bananas were being thrown at him and jungle noises chanted. Equally sadly, not too much was written about that immediately afterwards, as if amid the sectarian bitterness the throwing of bananas was a mere jest. The outrage about that only surfaced once he had been subjected to the same treatment from Hearts supporters in a later game.'
