Poetry_In_Blue 1,043
I know this was reported before, but apparently their bid is going to be in the region of £4 million, and not the £3 million that had been previously reported. To be honest I would be surprised if Walter allowed this to happen as Magic can be classed as an important player for us, and not one of the deadwood. MARSEILLE are lining up a January transfer swoop for Rangers defender Madjid Bougherra. The French side have admitted they have been monitoring the Algerian's performances and will test Rangers' resolve with a £4m bid. The Ibrox side paid £2.5m for the 26-year-old, who has replaced Carlos Cuellar at the heart of the Rangers defence. Bougherra didn't play for Algeria in their friendly against Mali on Wednesday night in Rouen because of injury but did travel to France to watch the game. Marseille Sporting Director Jose Anigo admitted he was there to watch Bougherra and has publicly admitted that the French side are interested in him. "I came to see Bougherra, in whom we have a great interest, but I learned he would not play," said Anigo. Bougherra denied any talks had taken place. "I haven't had any direct contact with Marseille," he said. "I am flattered that they are interested in me, but there is nothing concrete. We will see in January, but I am happy at Rangers." The defender missed last week's game against St Mirren with a calf injury, but is expected to feature for Rangers against Aberdeen at Ibrox tomorrow. What does concern me though is the quote from Magic, but not sure if this is a part quote or been taken out of context of what he might have said. radlord 24
Aye, that is definitely a worrying thing to say
GovanFrontGers 1
If he is sold that is end of it for Rangers this year.

BallochBear 1,613
While I don't want to see Magic go, if he does it is not the end of the world. Remember the furore and handwringing when there was wind of "King Carlos" leaving in the summer. Hell and damnation would befall us, the river would stop flowing, the air would be filled with a choking fog etc. etc., well we are still here, we are still the people and we are still in the title race. He has been a good signing but who can say we can't sign better. The world moves on, players move on, no-one is bigger than The Rangers, so just accept it and support the team through thick and thin, if for no other reason, remember you did not chose to be a Rangers supporter, you are one of those chosen to be a Rangers supporter. :unionflag: :unionflag: :unionflag: :unionflag:
feda16 136
McCoist said himself at the start of the season Rangers will be a feeder club to Europe and will sell when the right bids come in, i expect it to be the same for magic and i think he is replaceable. ShootSpeedKillLight 0
We need to be buying another centre back, not selling.
Jimenez 1
This will be one big test of Murray's resolve. We desperately need cash but winning the SPL this year is an absolute must.
papaguy51 912
Oh dear. I really can't see us saying no if Marseille come in and say: "Here's £4m up front, take it or leave it". I could see a lot of fans walking out of Murray and Smith sell the title for the 2nd year in a row though.
Stardog 11
£8m again and they can have him. We'll find another CB for £2.5m and get a few other players in, then sell that CB for £7m+.
edranger 0
If we are more than 6 points behind them jan he will go
NewHope 0
I can see this happening... hopefully not, but it's a definite possibility. Maybe that's why Murray is trying to get back in the good books by having some handbags with the Dark Lord of the Sith over at the Gasworks.
Muff 245
For £4m they should be told to bolt - if Bougherra is sold for that price then Murray has a lot to answer for. I see him going whether it's in January or the summer. If Bougherra goes in January then we are in big trouble unless we buy a quality CB - if we don't then even more rebuilding to do in the summer and we already have a lot to do! J-Maestro 11,109
If he goes in the summer it's going to be another task next year as I can't see Weir playing on another season. We'll have a completely new central defence.

bluepeter 5,627
Nothing to worry about, Weir and McCulloch are going to be our new centre-half pairing anyway
papaguy51 912
I'd like Bougherra to be a little more solid with his declaration of committment, but you need to remember that a lot of French Algerian players see Marseille as 'Holy Grail', so to speak. Radioactiveman 25
This will be one big test of Murray's resolve. We desperately need cash but winning the SPL this year is an absolute must. orangeyin 0
well its all coming clear now why lee has played at CB in the reserves and thrown in against the saints there too as bears we would not be happy to see him go but do we really want a player that wants to be else where playing in a position that is vital in our hope for the league i dont think so players come and players go

kirkiebear 1,013
This is becoming ridiculous, we will never win the title again if we keep selling our best players.
