Jakes Pal 5,642
A bit of good news for our favourite Geordie for a change, awarded significant sum as compensation for having his phone hacked by scumbag journos. Latest photos showing him looking well, no headlines recently about him falling off the wagon. Hope you can keep it up Paul. I know that Rangers are not a charity as such, however it would be nice if we could find a role for him somewhere, give him something to work towards, give him the chance to give even more to the Bears who adore him. Give him a purpose in life again.

Big Al 55 9,281
Is it good news? He was looking pretty healthy in the picture, I fear what he'll look like in a couple of weeks.

He was looking pretty healthy in the picture, I fear what he'll look like in a couple of weeks.I know where you are coming from with your post, give an alcoholic money and he will spend it all on booze. I can only hope that he has people looking after him.All that being said, I still think that such a naturally gifted footballer could be found a productive role within our Club. Rangers, we look after our own.

Personally find it distasteful how people can still idolise him after that.I don't think any court in the land could have sentenced him to a harsher spell of punishment than he has gone through since. Yes, of course it was wrong - no excuses - and it was the act of a fucked-up individual but he has certainly done his penance. We can certainly see that he has had many issues throughout his adult life. The man is desperately ill and has been for nearly two decades.Since his family have long-since forgiven him perhaps it's time for self-righteous, ne'er-do-wrong knobbers to try and cut him some slack also. Dutchy 1,200
Well I really hope he doesn't spend it on booze and buying himself friends. Time will tell, hopefully, he's had expert advice as I'm sure other folks knew something was coming up this week.

I don't really know how much clearer I can make it. A decent person doesn't act that way, and neither does he idolise someone that does. WadeWilson 4,670
People that abuse women and children are scum. I don't really know how much clearer I can make it. A decent person doesn't act that way, and neither does he idolise someone that does.I think I am in your head now. Who are your idols? Obviously not your old man. What are idols? There are not many footballers these days who are role models, unless you have a penchant for guys who drive around in Baby Bentleys with bling and replicas who are a bit rapey. Who do people look up to? Politicians? Paedos and Paedo-harbourers with blood on their dirty-cash-grabbing hands. Royalty? Leeching wasters who at best turn a blind eye to the paedo-harbourers. Tavistock-conditioned soldiers? Airhead celebrities? Vacuous lotto-winners? Actors? There are no heroes.Musicians? They don't do respect either. Maybe Joe Strummer and John Lydon (give or take a few butter ads). Some people can change, mate. Some humans can evolve. Others are stuck in the same place, destined to make the same mistake over and over... That's called insanity. There are worse humans in the world than Gazza. Much, much worse worse. You pick them up on your TV screen and read their words every day... But you keep up your blinkered hatred. Like I said, his family have long-since forgiven him. He'd probably give up any hero-worship that has been ever bestowed upon him to for a year of peace of the mind and soul... To not be in constant pain anymore. He may not be a hero but he surely deserves some compassion.
