A host of Rangers greats are returning to Ibrox to take part in a star studded legends match on Saturday 24 March 2018 (kick off 3pm).

Two teams of fans favourites, with Walter Smith lined up to manage the home side, are eagerly preparing to take to the pitch once again to raise funds for the Rangers Charity Foundation and the Rangers Youth Development Company.

Ally McCoist, Barry Ferguson, Lorenzo Amoruso, Michael Mols, Andy Goram and Jorg Albertz are just some of the legends who have signed up to play and Ibrox is sure to be packed to the rafters with fans not wanting to miss the opportunity to watch some of the finest players ever to feature for Rangers pull on the light blue jersey.  Ian Durrant and Mark Hateley are also looking forward to assisting from the dug-outs.

More players will be announced in the coming weeks, including the manager of the away side as well as a number of special guests from the worlds of sport and entertainment.  There will also be other fantastic activities and entertainment on the day making sure the occasion will be fun for all the family.

The Rangers Charity Foundation and the Rangers Youth Development Company will share the proceeds from the game. The Rangers Youth Development Company profits are directed to the Clubs’ Youth Department to provide the support for the many exciting youth initiatives being introduced by our Academy, while the donation to the Foundation will help it continue to be a force for good on behalf of the Rangers Family supporting a range of charities and life changing programmes in the community.

Former Rangers Manager Walter Smith, commented: “It will be great to be in the Ibrox dugout again for a legends match I’m sure every Rangers fan will be looking forward to.

“Getting the chance to run out on the pitch again is obviously a big thing for the former players, but even for myself, just walking in the dressing room and down the tunnel brings back so many fond memories from both of my spells here as manager.

“In terms of the 90 minutes I expect them to be entertaining and competitive with both sides desperate to win.

“As soon as a player pulls on the Rangers jersey and hears the roar from the crowd they will want to go out and put in a good performance, although how fit they are will undoubtedly determine how much game time I can give them!

“But the most important thing is that supporters get an opportunity to see so many great former players in action and that is what makes these occasions at Ibrox so special for everyone involved.”

Tickets for the match will be available to season ticket holders in the first instance from today (Friday 16 February) and will go on public sale on Monday 26 February.

Only if you ticked "non competitive games" eg friendlies etc I believe

Seen a few folk saying it won't be coming off automatically.

Will probably take my old man along to this.

The old firm one years ago and Milan game a while back were great but think these games are 10 a penny now with all sorts of charity games popping up. Can't see it selling well.

Probably suits better to the away days down south against Chelsea and Pompey legends in terms of fans travelling and having a good day out.
