Unfortunately not, I believe the first points you gain offset the minimum guarantee you get. Means you need to get 4 points from games before you see an improvement on the 4. That why the 4 is a minimum guarantee. Last year we won 2, drew 1 and lost 1 qualifier but only go the 4 points for getting in the group. Of course we didn't earn any pointts in the group.  It may only be the qualifiers which dont count in addition and points and those in the group stage do as that lot got 6 points last year which had to be their 4 for being in the group and 2 for their 2 draws.

The points earned in the qualifiers don't count for the clubs but do for the nations coefficient.

I dont think it matters. There are 12 European spots, 4 for the 4 year CL winners and 8 for the highest ranked teams in UEFA rankings, excluding CL winners, but only 1 from a single country. So a country can only have more than 1 participant if they have a CL winner. England will have minimum of 3 as they already have 2 CL winners, plus they will get 1 of the other 8 positions. Who wins next season's CL does not effect the rules regarding the other 8. It is effectively 2 separate selection processes unless the same team wins the CL twice in the 4 year cycle. There are then 9 spaces for non CL winners but the extra slot goes to the country of the double CL winner. For examlle if Man C win CL next season England will get 2 from the other 9 slots instead of 1 from 8. The other 7 selections are not effected.

Our biggest threat is Brugge as they are only 3 coefficient points behind us and are already in pot 1 of the Europa Conference Group stage. Would expect them to pick up a few wins in that and get to the knockout stages. Dedpite the fact we could be in CL they could well pick up at least 3 more points than us in the coming season.  We need to get through a couple of EL knockout rounds, either by being 3rd in CL group or being in EL group.

Brugge are on 54 points .

I've said it on here a few times but Goram against just Juventus is probably the greatest performance I've seen from a keeper and they still scored 4. If it wasn't for the Goalie that night it was easy double figures

Did Billy Thomson not play the second half?

I think it’s Cameron Archer (if Boro don’t go up).

We were linked with him under Gerrard, Beale will have come up against him in the EFL, probably knows him from premier league u21s games as well back in the day.

He'll just go vack to his parent club Villa

This. We needed a manager readily available (i.e. unemployed or very cheap) who had a track record of some sort of success in a similar situation. Gio had won 4 titles in 4 years at a big club in Feyenoord, had operated under some sort of relative financial restrictions and disparity against the opposition he faced, and had success improving players, bringing in youth and selling players on for profit. He also had a (now obviously false, as Feyenoord fans did warn us at the time) reputation as an attacking coach who played a similar formation. It was also seen as a bonus that he should have known what Scottish football is like and what the pressures of playing for Rangers are. People make jibes about appointing ex-players, but it's a legitimate concern - I don't think even Gerrard properly grasped the dynamics of Scottish football, and he's British and came from a massive club himself.

It wasn't that Gio ticked all the boxes, it was that he was on paper the best or most obvious choice out of any we could realistically get. The fact it's not working out doesn't mean it was an obvious mistake in hindsight. People can only make decisions based on what they knew at the time.

He only won 1 Title,2 Cups and a Sheild in his time as manager.

    Won 8/10 I believe.

Dundee 1-1, they had 10 men for 70 minutes. One of the most horrific results under Gerrard.

    St Johnstone 0-0 at home.

Whos blaming Alfie for those two then?

Was asking a question about how we did without him which you have answered. Not anything about blame .

    Aberdeen 1-1 rescinded

    UFA 1-1

    Aberdeen lost 0-1

    Aberdeen won 4-2

    Tarriers lost 2-1

    Motherwell won 2-0

    Tarriers won 2-1

With the exception of the loss to the tarriers his red cards actually haven’t cost us as we qualified in Russia and the Aberdeen defeat at home we were 1 down in 10 minutes, he was sent off in 70 minutes.

Can we stop the pish about how much his indiscipline outweighs his goals, assists and general play.

Any idea how we got on in the matches he missed due to suspension?

Been looking up Frankfurt domestically and the journey in the Europa league this season and hope this can help some members on the forum. I have tried my best to make all this accurate so if i make a mistake let me know.

I will start with Frankfurt's Bundesliga record in the last 15 games just to give you a rough idea how they have been playing.

They have won 2 games in the last 15 and in those 15 games they have 6 draws and lost 7 of those games.

overall in the season they have played 33 matches and won 10 games and drew 11 and lost 12 and have a goal scoring record of 43 and conceded 47 goals and currently sit with 42 pts and sit 10th in the league. they have a decent home attendance also it sits around 40-51k so that can give you a rough idea of the following they have.

Europa League for them this season seems to be where they have been performing and they have had some great results along the way just like we have.

They started in Group D and here is the ending of that group
    58408623_FrankfurtGroupD.thumb.jpg.b4c6da08d6d16c440dc9eb75e3742751.jpg

After topping Group D they went on to the round of the last 16.

They played Real Betis and won on a 3-2 Aggerate
Then dumped out Barcelona on a 4-2 Aggerate
Finally beat West Ham 3-1 on Aggerate

Still have to look into the players of Frankfurt but i am sure everyone knows by now what we are up against and the players we need to keep quiet.

They site 12th in the league on 41 points.

May be funny but nobody should miss out on a properly earned qualification to a tournament just so uefa can show how magnanimous they are.

If they bottle it and we pull off another helicopter Sunday would we be ok with some Ukrainian being given a place at our expense. Fuck no.

The only people to blame for what’s happening in Ukraine are the Russians not some other country’s football teams.

It's only automatic entry to the group stage because the Russian teams are banned .

Email says my ST is about couple of hundred less than last season?  The only thing I can think off for the reduction is, do they automatically put you on a concession rate when you reach 65.  Or is that wishful thinking and they’ve just ballsed up the email?

They automatically apply the concession if you meet the age criteria.

The 08 game was a death of a former player that got the game cancelled, when they had injuries and suspensions, to a better time for them.

this is miles more serious than then.

    it will be off.

sporting integrity and all that, remember? 😡😡

Another ex-player died in 2008 but they insisted that the matches be played we where on our knees at the time .
