  1. Kent is one of. If not, the best player we have. But we have managed to be top of the league without him. We have also managed with him being a one performance in 4 type of player. I get the argument for keeping our best players to secure the league and CL entry but equally I would be very concerned if I truly believed that Kent, or any other single player, was the difference between winning the league and not. There is a case to be made for players of bygone years like Laudrup or Gazza and it may be the case with smaller clubs (The Japanese guy at them) but I don’t think we have that heavy reliance on Ryan Kent. if we were to lose Kent, Kamara and Aribo I would be worried but any one of the three I think we can cope and anything over 18 million would be both a handy cash boost as well as a sign that we won’t sell cheap
  2. I just can’t subscribe to this. A football team should be able to cope with the loss of any single player. Any player can be injured at any moment. If we are relying on Ryan Kent to win the league then we are waaaay too fragile. if we can’t win this league with The likes of Aribo, Morelos, Wright, Hagi, Roofe, Sakala and Arfield able to play in the front 3 positions then we have a managerial issue.
  3. Based on timing and other things falling into place maybe, but based on readiness I think a manager should be ready by 45, latest, to take on the peak jobs. Most managers are ready by that age and if they are not then they will miss the boat. If KT is not in a position to accept the Rangers job by 45 years old either due to poor timing or due to lack of success/experience then I don’t think he will ever get it. He is 37 now so he has 7-8 years max to position himself.
  4. 10-15 years? Mate that is an aeon in footballing terms. If KT isn’t ready to be our manager in 3-4 years he never will be.
  5. I know a lot of Dutch people. I know a lot of South African people. A child of a Dutch and a Scottish parent brought up in SA would not have English as poor as this guy. No wonder he was banned pronto from the other site. One Caveat, a Fifer may have this level of English.
  6. Gerrard said many times that buying players in January commanded higher fees. If GVB is confirmed then I would be quite happy with a huge bid for Kent and the addition of a couple of Gios players (whats Veerman doing?) I think we have enough to win this league without Ryan Kent and with the right manager
  7. Might not be a popular view, but if Villa were to come in and give us mega bucks for one of our players it would go some way to softening the blow of all this. By mega bucks I mean north of 20 million. Kent, Kamara, Hagi, Morelos, I wouldn’t mind one of them departing for big money, alleviating some of the pressure and allowing the new manager something to work with. There is a lot to be done with this squad and balancing the books would definitely be a good start. Just one though
  8. 2 weeks ago. Gave a smarmy, arrogant riposte to a fair question. Wanker.
  9. Feel the same. If there is no more to it than he wanted to be closer to his family or he wanted to manage in the EPL then there is no excuse not to wait until end of season. Wanker.
  10. I haven’t followed the coaching careers of Mols and Numan. What’s their track record as coaches or assistants?
  11. Beale is going to be the hardest one to replace.
  12. Kevin Thomson or Neil McCann as number two to GVB
  13. Expected and possibly fair. I just try to look for logic in what seems a completely illogical chain of events. Their does not seem to be any explanation as to why SG, who is loyal to a fault, who has repeatedly, not only stated, but demonstrated his commitment to this club and the project of our success, would suddenly and without any warning chose to move to a poisoned chalice job in a mid table EPL side. The length of this thread and the confusion evident is testimony to the lack of logic.
  14. Newcastle were also looking for a manager. Why so happily settled two weeks ago and so quick to move two weeks later. Are we all really bad judges of character? SG is a loyal person by trait. He was committed to this project 2 weeks ago and now he is moving. Something doesn’t add up in my view
  15. Does no one else think that this is a decision that has been driven by the news coming out about our 23 million losses? 2 weeks ago he says he is happy and settled. Then the financial results are headline news. Next thing you know He is in talks with mid table fodder in the EPL. I know such speculation is going to be regarded “scum chat” or dismissed as unstaunch but there simply has to be an explanation. SG is a smart man and I am very concerned what suddenly changed for him.
  16. As everyone else is alluding to, a lot depends on wether Gerrard leaves alone or he takes all his staff with him. If the former then we would need a figurehead manager who handles the media well and commands the respect of the players if it’s the latter then we need very strong coaching and tactical awareness brought in. I fear for the latter scenario tbh
  17. Not even a debate in my mind. Has to be Manchester. Winning the UEFA cup at that time with that squad would have been not only a remarkable achievement but could potentially have brought additional finances and more exposure to the club and players at the time. Marseille would be a nice one to change, but we still would have had to beat AC Milan in the final and there are no guarantees there. Nothing domestically really matters as much as iconic Euro runs. We should be winners or runners up in all comps domestically every year. Europe we are punching well above our weight.
  18. I think we have to realise that every player has an individual character Some will thrive in the big crowds and raise their game, some will be neither up nor down and their game will be the same in any environment …..and then there are some who will shirk under the pressure i think we have all those types in our team. In the glory days we had very few shirkers. But I believe this squad have more than we can consistently compensate for. Folk say “well how come we have won in front crowds”? That’s when your shirkers have managed to muddle through on the backs of the others. Folk say “but it takes balls to come back” yeah collectively a team can come back but shirkers are going to make it harder. Even shirkers can shine but their average performance under pressure will be significantly poorer than their average performance when there is no pressure.
  19. Didn’t know where else to post this so here is as good as anywhere. The outrage I am reading on social media about the red card and the “offside” goal that wasn’t offside is seriously ominous. The referee is taking absolute pelters over this. The hatred and vitriol directed at him is back to levels witnessed back in 2010 when the ref strike happened. The refs in Scotland are genuinely not very good but the abuse they are subjected to is off the scale and when they get decisions correct, the mainstream media, the clubs and the governing bodies should come out in strong support and encouragement of those decisions. With this dark and sinister targeting of refs being cranked up again, we could be heading once again to the bleak days of strikes.
  20. No beef with them if they want away to advance their careers and are being up front about it. But it’s shocking that we didn’t cash in on them in the summer if they were refusing to sign. Basic stuff for a club that intends to be self sustaining. We simply have to tie them up on long term deals or sell them for what we can get before moving into last year of contracts. Disappointed
  21. Rather weirdly it was Oleg Salenko with our goal in a defeat to Aberdeen in the Semi Final of the Coca Cola cup.
  22. It’s echo chambers. I think there is a very large majority that truly believe this stuff. They are lead by ringleaders who know it to be false but propagate the falsehood in pursuit of their own agenda. Make no mistake. Your average moonhowler passionately and unwaveringly believes all the negative shit about Rangers. They believe with their soul that we died in 2012, the believe entirely that we are the problem in Scotland’s divisions, they believe until their dying breath that we cannot be better than them without establishments and cheating. This is how propaganda works
  23. I have read it. I have listened to it. I have seen the tweets. They won’t give a toss about what has been dug up. It will be easily swept under the carpet.
  24. if the sum total of this “fight back” is the screen shotting of people calling us “H**” then this will fall flat. I would like to see a list of all the media in the Reach PLC so we can plan a boycott of all their outlets. Let them know it’s happening. https://www.reachplc.com I would like a list of all the advertisers in the Daily Record published so that the residents of Glasgow can contact the advertisers and let them know that as long as they advertise in the rhag, they will be subject to a boycott from all Rangers fans. And for the fans to follow through on it.
