Clearly we’re trying to spend future budgets rather than use all of our current one with these loan to buys.

Makes sense if we qualify for UCL/win the league, especially with the revenue we’ll make from any group stage European football going up. But also a bit risky if the signings don’t work out or we fail, we could end up next summer with fuck all transfer budget…

    Very happy with this.
Hoping that the fact there's no fee involved means Sima could still sign permanently.

Thanks for the memories. 2 years too late IMO. The summer with Gio should have been the end for most of them.
Alas, all the best to all of them.

Rangers Football Club can today confirm the departures of Borna Barisic, Ryan Jack, John Lundstram, Jon McLaughlin and Kemar Roofe following the expiry of their contracts.
With a combined 23 seasons at the club, all five players have represented Rangers with commitment and dedication over a number of years.
They were all part of the squad that guided Rangers to the UEFA Europa League final in Seville, with Borna Barisic, Ryan Jack and Kemar Roofe lifting the league title with the club in 2020/21.
All five leave as Scottish Cup and Scottish League Cup winners with Rangers in recent years.
Everyone at Ibrox and Rangers’ Training Centre thank the departing players for their time at the club and wish them all the very best for their future careers.

Yeah I don't know if he was the right person or not, but to say the CEO is only there to give updates to the board clearly isn't true.
As you said, they're responsible for ensuring everyone under them is performing and making strategic decisions on areas across the business. That's not a walk in the park.

Great line in Margin Call about why do CEOs get paid so much. It’s to predict what’s going to happen in the future and plan accordingly.

Bennetts no idiot although I’m not sure he’s the figurehead we need to tackle the ongoing shitshow with referees etc.
A CEO of a football club is basically the person who makes sure the head of each department performs, replaces those heads with the best talent available when they don’t. We’ve been far too reactive rather than proactive with decision making since 55, that needs to change soon.

The support naturally moves away from demanding sustained change or outright protest due to what happened to us with ownership in 2012. Anyone that doesn’t have some sort of Rangers connection will instantly be met with scepticism, as they would anyway but it’s met 10 fold now.

We really need new ownership and leadership. Even if you take it from 2019, it’s still absolutely shocking return. Best part of £100m spent on absolute guff, the money we made from Gerrard, Patterson, Bassey and the EL run wiped out, biggest wage bill in our history for a league cup return, 1 league title in 5 seasons with a wage bill that has cost over those 5 seasons the best part of a quarter of a billion pounds. When it’s laid out like that it’s been a complete and utter failure and here we are for what is probably the 3rd time in those 5 seasons, looking at a squad rebuild and turnover of about 20 players. The other 2 seasons GVB was hung out to dry and Gerrard got Juninho Bacuna for winning the league. Flip flop from we’re giving you nothing thank you for winning the league or winning a cup and EL final to here’s £15m to a PE teacher to take the heat from the fans off our back.

It’s really not uncommon for another exec (chairman, CFO, COO) to assume the outgoing CEO’s responsibilities in the interim if a proper succession isn’t possible for some reason. There’s plenty of evidence that interim CEO appointments are bad for businesses and a good appointment could easily take 6-9 months once you’ve recruited them + they’ve seen out their notice period. Plenty you can criticise the board for (appointing Bisgrove as CEO for one) but there’s nothing weird or unprofessional about this.

Some unbelievable nonsense on here.   Bisgrove may not be everyone's favourite type but he was responsible for increasing commercial income 5 fold.  A couple of ideas were not exactly well received such a Mygers and the proposed Oz friendly but Mgers brings in about £2m I believe and the Oz game was supposed to bring another 7 figure amount.  Both these ideas must have been approved by the board at the time and Douglas Park was chairman at that point.  As for his post being empty it isn't a problem at this point.   A new guy will probably be appointed but everyone under him who carry out duties will continue.

Joshua Barrie made the good point that for Cantwell it’s largely the quality around him not finishing off his moves.
He’s not someone who is going to score many 20-25 yard goals but he does play passes others can’t make that either set up chances or is the bit of quality before the pass/cross that leads to the chance.
Cue 100 dislikes but Barrie’s spot on.

Class atm, I’ve just bought the wee man 4x pairs of shorts, a tracksuit top and the away and 3rd kit, for £50 in total including delivery.
    Full price that’s about £250+

The abuse he gets from our fans is absurd
I don’t think he’s good enough either and agree we should look to cash in, but I’d rather have him in the squad over Lawrence, any day of the week.

I mean more in the style of play as a #10. Hagi has a tremendous attitude.
I'm not sure what Clement wants out of his # 10. More goals/assists would help, I suppose.
I'm not advocating for Hagi's return, but he never really played in his proper position very much when here. I've no idea what went on at Alves, but it doesn't sound positive.

Mind the SC semi last season we literally stopped playing because we thought there was a foul on the edge of our area and I think it was Jota scored a header unchallenged

Colak was brilliant at what he did and he would’ve scored a shed load of goals in our team this season. Perfect for playing against your run of the mill SPL teams but doesn’t offer enough in Europe or for OF games. Basically like a modern day Boyd, that’s how he should’ve been used
