Middleton looked great when he came on, some morons on here think he's just another Gregg Wylde but he's clearly not he's got far more skill and technical ability than Gregg Wylde could ever have dreamt of having. He was running rings around the Croatia defenders they couldn't stop him.
Hopefully he can really kick on with hibs this season and return to us next season as a first team player.

Scotty, my girls are exact same. Couldn't be prouder. They absolutely bleed blue.  Bought my oldest a car for her 21st. Royal blue with red and white trim. Made her search 3 hours on a treasure hunt to get to her goal. She was absolutely elated. Taken them both since they were 5 years old like I was to my first game.  Waving their flags, wearing their tops. They have both said when they have their kids (not too soon I hope) they will carry on the tradition. Makes me happy they love Rangers as much as I do and my family before us.

Brilliant when you can share as a family what you feel as a Bear .
I played football in the house with my oldest boy not long after he started walking , got him hooked watching the football on the telly , got him to his first game against Sturm Graz just before he was four , and was a season ticket holder a few years later . He started a website  about Rangers - https://rangerstoday.wordpress.com  while at school , including a Twitter account , with a  quiz which is still on the go on a Thursday night , and was a contributor to WATP magazine .
He and his younger brother , who is just as Rangers daft , will be sitting next to me tomorrow as we have done for many a year now .

Fully expecting to get a bit of abuse for this post but it looks horrendous when the stadium is down to 50% capacity or less at full time so it would be nice if people could stay until the end
The entire 2nd half against rapid Vienna was amazing

Big man was superb tonight, man of the match for me. Bossed it at the back, solid in the air at both ends. As was said in commentary hes come back this season looking way more assured than he was before. We have a great player in the making there, here's hoping he keeps this good form going

Can’t believe the hat trick hero hasn’t got his own thread after that rout.  You could see what that third meant to him as well, he looked emotional.
Class act, long may he keep scoring for us -

Everything. I moved to south east England in 1978 aged 5 and since 1983 have spent my whole life on trains planes and buses following home and away, at first at the expense of my mother who is also now living back in Scotland, and from 1990 when I left school and got my first ST I traveled up to usually 10 or so home games and the same away. Been to 37 games in Europe over the years but not as many as I should have last couple, Vienna being the last. I’m lucky that I was brought up in a family where Rangers meant everything especially growing up down south, but I honestly can’t put into words what our club means, but it’s 100% the most important thing in my life

I can see it being tougher than folks think.  It's easy to get carried away on a wave of optimism as we have strengthened but nothing is guaranteed. If we have learned anything, it should be that the path to 55 is never smooth. I get that we 'want' 55, and there's no doubt that you are correct that will be easier if we retain Tav and Alfredo but we need to see how the team blends and settles in the real competitive games. I hope your assertion we 'will' win 55 is correct, (oh PLEASE BE TRUE)  but lets realise we will have to fight tooth and nail for it.

We can all laugh and be faux offended but see to be honest it is starting to get beyond a joke. They are making our brand seem less important than them over the city. Neutral people actually watch/read BBC and when headlines are always negative about us and positive about them then people do tend to believe it  because it mostly goes unchallenged. We should be complaining about it because as the OP said they are supposed to be neutral.

pensionerbear reacted to backup in For aficionados of half back lines and unequalled glory, The Rangers Iron Curtain.
Treble season 1948/49, the year of the Iron Curtain
Our first treble, back in season 1948/49, is probably the least celebrated of the record 7 trebles we have won.

A last-day dramatic title win at Albion Rovers in the league, on a day the prolific Willie Thornton scored a hat-trick, saw the title regained from the great Hibs team of the time.

The League Cup was only in its third season, and Rangers won it for the second time, beating Raith Rovers 2-0 in the final.

The Scottish Cup was retained in front of 120,162 at Hampden as Clyde were beaten 4-1.

Rangers played a total of 44 games that season, and although the magnificent Thornton played a huge part in the clean sweep by scoring 34 goals, the triumph was built on the most famous defence in the history of the club, and of Scottish football.

In the days of the 3-2-5 formations Rangers line-up for virtually the whole season saw Bobby Brown in goal, full backs George Young and Jock Shaw either side of centre half Willie Woodburn, behind Ian McColl and Sammy Cox at half back.

This was the great Iron Curtain.

In that season of 44 games, Bobby Brown played in all 44. George Young in 42. Jock Shaw captained the side and appeared 41 times. Willie Woodburn played in 42 games. Ian McColl in 41 matches. And Sammy Cox made 43 appearances.

The rocks on which Mr Struth built his latest great Rangers team were virtually ever-present, and such was their combination of ability, determination, dedication and organisation, they are remembered to this day. All 6 players gave Rangers at least a decade of service, and in total they played an almost unbelievable 3169 times for the club.

All 6 players are in the Hall of Fame, and they all deserve a place at the top table in among that company.

Their names, and the Iron Curtain nickname, will live on forever as part of the great history of The Rangers Football Club.

Amongst the countless medals and trophies they collected, they were the biggest reason why the first treble in the history of Scottish football was won.

I doubt there will ever be a defensive unit to rival them in terms of longevity, consistency and success. Anywhere.

Those that didn't know what a half back was ....certainly do now !
