That's quite harsh tbh. Think looking at the 1st one his right foot is offside. Didn't see the lines drawn for the 2nd one, but probably half his big fucking toe.

He made good runs for them, he's "just" been caught off. He's nowhere near as shite as that useless cunt Lammers.

Edit: I know Lammers played the ball through to him for the "2nd" but apart from that he was horrific when he came on.

I actually agree that at Motherwell the decisions were more than tight and VAR disallowing goals down to mm is ridiculous. However, since he arrived he has been stupidly and clearly caught offside far too often when just a look would keep him onside.

Wonder if Souttar will be considered for midfield if things get any worse. Played there a few times with Hearts and DU i think.

Hope not, looked like an awkward central defender trying to play midfield when Dundee utd tried that briefly.

  3. Like Sands a star in MLS but unable to work out what to do in a situation where any thought or imagination is needed or where an opponent does something that is not on the play book.

i did think he was hard done by with VAR.

  4. Is it two players in the last twenty five years who have been on loan and become first team players?

I find it embarrassing that most of our loaned out players rarely get starts in the lower leagues and get a few minutes late in games.

We need to have some way of making sure that loans are beneficial to club and player because the evidence over the past quarter century show that it is not.

I can’t even begin to understand how he was rated in the MLS. The standard must be diabolical

Sands was supposed to be a superstar as well. Our MLS signings have been found out as players with no ingenuity or spontaneity and little on field awareness, in fact the only success I can remember is Edu. Our real USA successes; Beasley and Reyna had experience playing in Europe.

Probably our strongest 11 right now….and it’s fuckin depressing !

You are right, it really is depressing, especially as Lawrence has been very poor in the time he has been on the pitch. Cantwell  has been mediocre since the start of the season, not just the last few weeks. Our squad is turgid when you look at how our regular and back up players perform. When a youngster comes on and shows up the so called stars maybe time to make hard and honest decisions about our signings over the past two years.

  7. The bottom line is that our squad is one of the poorest quality in the top division since the early eighties. A lot of similarities; players brought in who have no history of consistent performances. We have relegation regulars, failures from other leagues, one dimensional plodders even at SPL level who can put in a decent performance once in a while.

We are suffering for poor choices at coaching level and even more in player recruitment going back to the crazy hiring of conman Pedro. It is a damning indictment that our two most consistent players were signed seasons ago one by Warburton and one by Gerrard.

Good teams have a strong spine; keeper, central defenders, central midfield, striker. We have Butland and Goldson and nothing else. Midfield has been a huge factor for a season and a half and our front three combinations are lower league quality.

Can we be more clinical with the players we have?

yesterdays starting line up and front 6

Lundstram - 0 goals this season

Cifuentes - 0 goals this season

Lawrence - 0 goals this season

Cantwell - 1 goal this season.

Sima and Danilo only real threats and Sima is out of form just now.

I think bringing on Lammers when we were chasing goals just about sums up where we were at yesterday.

Every game I keep wondering where our goals are going to come from, we really do not have reliable potent scorers upfront or in midfield. Our central defenders also do not score  enough at set pieces to balance that out. However, for a season and a half our midfield have not pulled their weight on the defensive side either and that is where we need to sort things out if possible.

We can't continue with the same players that bottle it every season and just keep replacing the manager.  Other than the 55 season we haven't looked capable of winning the big games in the league and the common theme has been these players.  Sure they have contributed to some good memories but time moves on and we now need better in their positions.

Tav is visibly slowing down and needing to take longer to do everything.   Goldson is nowhere near as dominant as he was in his peak and with Balogun beside him they just looked jaded.  Barisic at his peak could get up the pitch and put in great crosses, now he struggles to get to the ball and most of his crosses hit the first man because he doesn't have the physical attributes or skills to create space for the cross.  Lundstram is good at making it look like he's contributing but having the odd burst into good space or strong tackle but generally he just spends most of the game hiding or slowly moving around the pitch and being our of position.

Cantwell and Sima to me just looked like they were trying to do too much today, which is a common issue with Cantwell.  He wants to be all over the pitch and ends up not being in the right attacking areas.

Good analysis!  I would add that we looked very disjointed today as well. Not sure Lawrence and Cantwell are a good fit in the same team.

    Absolutely this.

Where were the celebrations every time they won a tackle against the scum?

Where was the grit and determination to track back and slide into tackles against the scum.

How can a defence that lost 6 goals in their very last game suddenly look unbeatable today??

I'm not into conspiracies, but Aberdeen need investigating into why they lie down to the scum!!

We should be investigated as well since we have ensured they are not bottom placed this season.

The best that can be said for Cifuentes is that he is a "continuity player" - he simply collects the ball and passes it to somebody else. That's it.

At least Dessers tries to make something happen - albeit usually unsuccessfully.

There is no footballing ingenuity in Cifuentes.Stop the ball to control in pass it to the side or back, anyone can do that. Passing to Lundstram just means possession is lost, although that can be said of Sima and Cantwell also.

Mate you can go see your team stop been dramatic about it, I get what you’re saying but without trying to be too unsympathetic it’s 3 or 4 minutes tops of smoke and inconvenience.

A lot more than that at Dens Park but anyway why should anyone who goes to see the game be inconvenienced at all?

Definition of a water carrier in football is 'a football player who is regarded as hard-working and competent but is not a star player'. That describes Lammers.

He does keep possession of the ball and carries it. He also passes the ball to team mates accurately most of the time. My eyes clearly see something different to yours, which is fine. From the moment he missed that chance v PSV he became the whipping boy IMO.

My eyes see different as well. That is why I get so frustrated at his misplaced passes and constant loss of possession. I cannot fault his work rate and movement so maybe he just needs to calm down and keep it simple.
