Can't think of many GOATs in sport who aren't/weren't a prick, to be honest. At least Djokovic is the sort of prick who builds kindergartens in flood-ruined towns and sets up cross-community tournaments in his war-ravaged region.
The only reason he gets it tight compared to other pricks in sport is that he's cringe and unconvincing with his twatty behaviour, probably because he's actually pretty sound.

Believe it was the vickies with the full up and under. Before my time but by all accounts he had a knack of scoring goals against us in the 80s and generally playing out of his skin. It comes up about 3 times a year on FF that he got a lot of stick because Bears assumed he was a Celtic fan.

The rule is daft. Contributed to the stupid goal we conceded on Sunday too.
It should be that if a player is in an offside position and the ball is played to them then it’s offside as they are interfering with play whether they touch it or not by the nature that someone has played the ball to them.

I knew Souness had scored in the 85 Coppa Italia final and that Trevor Francis, Ray Wilkins and Mark Hateley had also played in the game but I couldn't remember if I had actually seen the goal so went searching on YouTube.

Pure class. I saw Souness' comments when the news broke and thought "that's quite an impression for a 20-22 year old to make on a world class, multi-European Cup winning star.

Yeah we were. Murray even flew to Turin to try and derail the Chelsea deal at the 11th hour.

Loved him as a player, seemed like an absolutely great bloke, and was the most underrated pundit I have ever seen on TV. Can't understand why he didn't get more work on UK TV when lesser players who were far lesser pundits got work ahead of him, despite him living here. He was smart, likeable, articulate. Would have loved for him to have played for us (think we were in for him but he chose Chelsea instead, @McEwan's Lager can probably confirm.

It's an odd narrative. The people who say he won it singlehandedly have surely not actually watched the games, or least haven't watched them since 1986. Maradona was incredible at the tournament, but he elevated his teammates, he didn't embarrass them.
Valdano in particular had a phenomenal world cup. If Higuain, Aguero or Tevez had even once showed up like Valdano and Burruchaga did, Messi would have at least two World Cups.

An interesting fact about Mihajlovic, who is often thought to have been some kind of rabid ultra-nationalist - he was one of only 100,000 people to self-declare as an ethnic Yugoslav rather than one of the constituent nations in the 1991 census, when the country was on the brink of war, something mostly army officers, communist party officials and state enterprise managers did.

Missed this! What a character. Huge part of one of only two teams east of Munich to win the big one.

Supposedly when Arkan, the leader of Red Star's ultras and the commander of the most notorious Serb paramilitaries, captured Mihajlovic's hometown, he captured Mihajlovic's Croat uncle, but then released him at Sinisa's request, such was the esteem he was held in. 

True, but Maradona joined them in 1984.
