  1. I said from the start of the season I don't care about the domestic cups, its the league and europe for me. The CIS Cup or whatever its called now is particularly pointless and we should be putting out a reserve/under 21 team for it every season regardless of the strength of our squad. The problem is that if we dont win a trophy in Scotland then chances are the tims will and thats why most fans would never accept us not putting out a full strength team.
  2. Believe? I'm sick of that shit, I along with many others 'believed' we would win yesterday. So what went wrong there then?
  3. Right now I dont know and no amount of 'No Surrenders' and 'WATP's is going to change that. January is a huge month, if we win our games in hand and finish the month on top and with our squad intact then I think we might scrape it (I dont think we'll be taken over or add any players to our squad) If however we continue to stumble along the way we have been and are still trailing the filth after our games in hand have been played then its going to be very very hard. Even more so should they strengthen during the transfer window.
  4. This would not surprise me, I remember mentioning it on here after we played them in the cup last year I think, no idea if the footage would be available but McCoist referred to Mehmet as one of the best players in the SPL. I swear he said this but don't know if anyone else can remember?
  5. Also think its time to stop the posts about Celtics defence being shite, there for the taking etc. We've conceded more goals than both them and Hearts this season so our biggest concern should be our inability to keep a clean sheet and concession of sloppy goals week after week.
  6. I agree, Weir won't get dropped. The way it looks to me is that he needs to be playing twice a week to keep his body in a match fit state, its no coincidence that this season has been very stop-start with long gaps between games and he has struggled to keep up a match pace. I fully expect him to play in every game possible this season regardless of how dodgy he looks, Smith is too stubborn and blindly-loyal to 'rest' him.
  7. I'm pretty sick of hearing the players weekly soundbites about what they haven't been doing and what they need to start doing. Just fucking do it then.
  8. Sacked by Stuttgart, Hannover and Schalke and a history of falling out with his directors? Doesn't exactly scream potential Rangers Manager to me.
  9. ---------------Alexander----------------- Cole-----Webster------Perry--------Kerkar Naismith----Hutton-----Ness-------Wylde ------------Beattie----Lafferty---------
  10. He needs to be told that first and foremost he is a defender, these suicidal charges up the park have to stop, especially when it leaves Weir and our defence in general so exposed. Its a tough situation now because he's made it clear he sees his future elsewhere yet his chances of a move are decreasing with each poor performance.
  11. I've been disappointed with Weiss this season. A lot of posts in this thread are using as justification to play him that he did well against Hibs when he came on and played well against Motherwell last week. Well for me showing up twice against average teams really isn't enough and he needs to bring a level of consistency to his game where even if his stepovers and tricks aren't working he still finds a way to contribute.
  12. I've said it on a few threads before, McCoist was my hero growing up but I cannot take him seriously as a manager and don't want him anywhere near the big job next season.
  13. I'm sick of reading the same old shite from our management and players after every piss-poor performance. Just as the second half kicked off there was an interview with McCoist that went something along the lines of: Interviewer - So Ally how did you see that first half? McCoist - Oh I thought we were magnificent Interviewer - And how about the second half? Anything different? McCoist - Oh no we've just told the players more of the same please. Now I may be paraphrasing a little but it was along those lines, which added to Smiths comments above really concerns me.
  14. Strange that you would start your post mentioning the over-confidence of the build up to todays game yet still go on to say we will win every game in January and February and the tims will drop points. On todays evidence we're the team who should be worrying about difficult games and dropped points, especially with a buoyant Hearts side now breathing down our necks as well.
  15. Cant be arsed replying to all that, but... As mentioned above, our players playing shite so potential buyers get put off is not a bonus. Point 4 - its not an illusion that they are top, they ARE top. We need to win those games in hand, something I am not confident we will do. Point 5 - well if its an illusion they played well is that not even more worrying that they can play poorly with their second string team yet still win convincingly? And how many saves did their keeper have to make? In fact how many touches of the ball did he have? I'm all for finding positives, if there are any to be found, but your post reeks of desperately clutching at straws more than anything else.
  16. Knee jerk reactions? Really? This has been going on all season, its not knee-jerk its genuine concern. And you talk as if Celtic will continue to drop points this season and we won't. Well for as keech as they might be the fact is right now they have more points than us and a better goal difference. Games in hand need to be won and at this point I dont have any confidence in our ability to win two tricky away ties. And you also say we are playing with a threadbare squad? Well todays line-up was probably Naismith and Jelavic short of being our first choice starting 11, and the bench was as strong as we've had in a while. It was the tims who were down to the bare bones today and we should have taken advantage of that rather than hand them the initiative in the title race.
  17. Our 'tactics' once again today consisted of Weir chipping balls either straight onto the centre halfs forehead or straight out for a goal kick.
  18. There are no obvious alternatives to Weir because we just dont have any natural leaders within the squad.
  19. Thought he did ok, nothing more. But rather worryingly his legs looked to have gone even before Samaras skinned him let alone when he eventually went off with cramp.
  20. Haven't personally seen any posts on here congratulating them its all been disgust at our utterly inept performance.
  21. If that is the case then I'd imagine theres a fair chance we could also be sitting in 3rd place if Hearts also have a game during that time?
  22. Davis is often anonymous in the middle of the park anyway, but even on the right he should surely have enough about him to dominate the utterly woeful excuse for a footballer that is Charlie Mulgrew? But no, yet again he did fuck all.
  23. Celtic were far superior to us today. Smith picked the team, is supposed to make tactical changes and motivate the team, how can he not take any blame for this?
  24. Yup, theres a reason why Aberdeen let him go out on loan, he may have a bit of pace but he has the footballing ability of a traffic cone. Mind you, he wasn't the worst player in a blue jersey today.
