  1. to fuckin' true mate, anybody could beat us then, "just punt in a high ba' & we'll have a laugh"
  2. Does he still play for his pub team? sure I read it in book recently. grace personified.
  3. Trying to lighten things up lads and lasses. Lets hear your funny stories or one liners that you've seen or heard at a game, hope this one gives you a chuckle , it made me laugh & still does after all these years. Was at a game at Ibrox in the late 80s early 90s, think it was Hamilton Accies we were playing?, anyway 10 mins. into the match and Rangers were 2-0 up [no it's not a fairy story] and this guy sits down in the empty seat next to me, "wit's the score mate" he asks," 2-0" says I, "fuck' says he. Anyway the game's allready over and the rest of the half is a snore, 5mins. before HT buddy decides to go for a pie & bovril and 2mins. later the Gers score again 3-0 HT. Buddy gets back into his seat just before the 2nd. half starts, and starts his moaning, all though the 2nd. half me & my mates are listening to him whine "first time I've been to Ibrox in years & I've missed 3 goals & the fuckin' bovril is cauld" etc., well the 2nd half is more turgid than the 1st. with the players just going through the motions, and with buddy whining, me & my mates decide to wind him up for the last 20mins. "why don't you fuck off, ya fuckin' Jonah & maybe we'll get to see another goal or two" etc. And so with the combination of the game now crap, and the constant slagging buddy decides to join the subway loyal, 10 mins. from the end he gets up and bids us farewell to a chorus of "thank fuck". He must have just got outside when he heard the cheer as Rangers made it 4-0. we were pissing ourselves, but that's not all folks, in the 89th. does the Teddies not score again 5-0. well me & the troops are now beside ourselves rolling about in our seats howling, and the looks on the faces of supporters leaving the stadium wondering what the fuck we were on just made us worse. Even now I still wonder how buddy must have felt & if he ever came back, 5-0 & never seen a goal. And so the moral of the story folks, is get in early & wait till the end.
  4. Pissed myself laughing one night when the DJ at Ibrox played Rod Stewarts' Your in my heart', when it came to THAT part the crowd were going'radio rental' and there was a loud scratch heard across the record, somebody must have run in and snatched it off the turntable ,Hope his feet never touched the ground on the way out the door.haha!!
  5. I know what kind of stick i'd like to give him.
  6. Because our manager is the same guy who 1st. time around, would rather have Craig Moore playing in midfield than the young Charlie Miller & Derek McInnes.
  7. I think I should be Manager, I am in the right price range.
  8. I guess my wonderful song idea rattled your cage. Dubious quote. It's a timmy lie. Jog on. Guevara talked of his Irish connections through the name Lynch and of his grandmother's Irish roots in Galway. Later, Che, and some of his Cuban comrades, went to Limerick City and adjourned to the Hanratty's Hotel on Glentworth Street. According to Quinlan, they returned that evening all wearing sprigs of shamrock, for Shannon and Limerick were preparing for the St. Patrick's Day celebrations.[6] It's all been disproved by proper historians. Brain-dead bigoted revisionists can get to F. Why don't you F off to your scum site, you Torbettite! Everything that 'fenianhater' has said has been an extract from wikipedia. It's an old story, long disproven. He's just had his nose put out of joint, due to his desire to place Irish Republicanism with socialism, but since the former is purely racism and nothing else, it's incompatible with the latter. Can anyone pay for a ticket for me so I can go home? To Drumchapel? Ban me I'm sure father Lynch will pay for your ticket home, for a small gratuity. Jog on rent boy
  9. Laudable statement, but I hear plenty of people at Ibrox who most certainly do not tolerate or embrace "all", so who exactly is the "we" you are referring to? You only have to read this board to find some of the posters who are clearly anti-Catholic in their views. If you want to regard supporting Rangers as an adjunct to your own religious observance than that's fine, but to suggest that it is intrinsic to supporting Rangers and that those of us who do not follow any religion should accept this and be "tolerated" is condescending. Despite what a number of people on this board believe, there is, frankly, little evidence that Rangers FC was set up with any intention to be a "Prostestant" club and for many years it was not significantly influenced by religion other than it was a club supported by the establishment in Scotland, which during the first half of the 20th Century was predominantly Protestant. It was also firmly Tory in its politics at the time as many Protestants viewed any form of socialism as anti-religious. Judging by the number of votes the Conservative Party now get in Scotland it seems that most people no longer feel any need to vote along religious lines and would, in fact, feel it was ridiculous to do so. Maybe it is time for the same view to be taken with supporting football teams. it might not have set out to be a protestant club, but it ended up as one and known all over the world as being a protestant club. Thats the truth Minstral, in my earlier post what I was clumbsly tryng to say was, if you support the Rangers no matter your religion [or lack of] I will respect your choise, but you should also respect the clubs foundations and traditions which like it or not is predominatly protestant, and if you cannot accept this fact then maybe you should be looking for some other club to support.
  10. Should probably be in general topics, but being brought up a protestant I've never hated catholics for being catholics, [a lot of my friends are catholics], just don't like the religion and that goes for a lot of other religions. but everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and if it give you succour in times of need then who am I to tell you that you are wrong. I will try to convince others to my point of view, but I could be wrong, I suppose I'll only truly find out when the time comes to meet my maker. point is religion should not be forced on you, but should be chosen.
  11. Ted McMinn Made me dizzy, can't imagine what he was like to play against, may not have been the best but what a fucking laugh he gave us.
  12. Was salivating at the thought of Fergie & Mendes playing together, shows just how much I know I suppose. <_<
  13. Iv'v follow the Gers through the bad times in the late 60's & early 80's, stood in Ibrox when you could've fired a cannon in the place & not hit anyone, now while I wouldn't encourage fans to stay away,if it wasn't for the small crowds that were coming through the gates in the 80's nothing would have changed, although I wasn't part of that movement in hindsight I'm glad the punters [voted with their feet] it forced change. SDM has done his best,I'm not decrying him, just don't think he can take us any farther, and while some may prefer the devil they know, I think it's time to move on. otherwise IMO it's going to be more of the same for some time to come. I hope to god I'm proved wrong, just don't think so though.
  14. Messi Ballack & Lovenkrands, now that's what I call a defence. Yours Walter.
  15. Not just the manager who dosn't have the stomach for the fight ,it stems all the way from the chairman down. We seem to be a rudderless ship running aground.
  16. Thats the final straw for me, Rangers is not your fucking plaything get fucking fit, shut your trap and only come back if your good enough. Makes me fucking sick!!
  17. Oh for a Sounes, Bomber, or a Grahme Roberts type right now.
  18. It will always ruin my weekend when we lose, distance doesn't make any difference to me. A fter all these years being a supporter you'd think I'd be used to by now but it still hurts, wish I could grow up!!
  19. League isn't over yet,but it is getting harder by the week. Might sound stupid {tin hat on] but I wish we wre playing them next week as the OF game takes care of itself, a win and the confidence would be lifted, but then again we'd probably fuck it up again the following week. Everyone wants to blame the management, fair enough! but the players need to take a good look in the mirror aswell
  20. History repeating itsaelf, watched it through the late 60's 80',s now watching it all over again,
