Just so I understand it, does that mean losing a cup game against a PL team matters, but winning one doesn't? Also, winning in the OF game doesn't count either?

I though the Motherwell game in the league cup mattered. I thought winning the last OF game at Ibrox mattered. I believe you only think that the defeats matter.

My actual point is that what you wrote is indicative of the fact that a lot of fans have real difficulty in accepting that we are not 'Rangers class' anymore and have very few players who fit that bill. We still have standards and expectations that would have been prevalent over the last 30years, but currently they are unrealistic.
There is a justifiable disappointment in performance, but there is also a lack of reality in pinning everything about this situation at the manager's door. We have players who would never have got near us 3 years ago, and expect them to shine for us.

Indeed, stupid statistics coming out of mental situations are meaningless aren't they?

Which , at the very least is an improvement on last year when there were complaints that we weren't obviously fitter than part timers. Glass half full over here!

legalbeagle got a reaction from Reformation Bear in European Commission seek explanation on Celtic land deals
This is clearly a very interesting story, quite a test of our media to see how interesting they find it, not just from a football perspective but more importantly from a taxpayer's perspective. If you'd asked me a couple of years ago about this, I would probably have just said that businesses are within their rights to try and work in as commercially sharp a fashion as possible, but I have been converted and now firmly believe in sporting integrity and fairness.
Will be interesting to see where this goes, but certainly hope that we can get some advantage from their alleged financial doping over the years.

legalbeagle got a reaction from radlord in Minutes applause for Mandela
There are two points here, the one around the hypocrisy of the SPFL and country in general expecting this when it was not enforced for Remembrance is absolutely disgraceful.
The people on here who are talking about Mandela in such a negative way may want to consider just how much they would enjoy a South African football fan giving it large about Northern Irish politics.
Trying to take a 'Rangers' view on Mandela is mentally inept and would make the club look ridiculous if the fans did so, luckily a handful of nutters on here will fade into the crowd.

Tell you what, Goat, forget everything else that I disagree with you about on this thread, but if you got your way who is it that you want to actually select and hire a new manager?

So, GOAT, before the season started did you give an answer to any of the threads asking about your hopes and expectations for the season and what would be successful, or does your fixed view on Ally override silly things like that?

Shouldn't this be in the 'rampant Ally-hating but never admit it, would love him to prove me wrong but won't give him any credit for anything' forum?

Be interesting if we could all declare now if we are happy with the team, before it kicks off. Personally, I think it would have been utter madness to change it from an 8-0 win, so happy with it.
