  1. I'm sure I still have my programme somewhere. The 1969 Rangers team was underperforming with a manager who was struggling to impose his authority. Now we have a team moving towards its top gear, under a smart and authoritative boss, so these Poles will hopefully be beaten!
  2. I was at Ibrox for the second leg 3-1 defeat to Gornik - also just a boy! They had a good team - star man was Lubanski who ran our defence ragged. Davie White was sacked as manager after this defeat, and Willie Waddell appointed. I can still remember the 'White must go' chant towards the end of the game. Gornik went all the way to the Cup Winners Cup Final that season, and lost to Man City.
  3. The yellow card for Gascoigne - a reminder that Scottish referees have always been wankers.
  4. I'm old enough to have seen Colin Stein score a hat-trick against them when we beat them 6-1 at Ibrox in 1968.
  5. Imagine having to sit in the same room as the Scottish sports 'journalists' and 'broadcasters' though.
  6. Agree. I was disappointed that he won nothing in the air in either box last night.
  7. Edmundson and Goldson managed to get through tonoight's game without winning a single header between them from any corners - either the ones we were defending or the ones we won. Not impressive at all.
  8. All well and good, but the incompetent amateurs who referee games in Scotland make up their own rules as they go along.
  9. I had forgotten that Hodson was still on the books. He has to go.
  10. Taking decent players from the other Scottish clubs without paying a penny in transfer fees is fine with me.
  11. Usual website chaos. Tried to update my credit card details but there was no link to do so. Phoned the ticket office - credit card update part of system has crashed apparently, so they will send me a paper form to fill in ...
  12. The time to go was 2012 - starting again in the English lower leagues. Didn't happen then, and never will now. We are stuck in the cesspit.
  13. Thanks. Yes, they got here in the end, although they are not content just to report the McCann statements, but have to end their report with more negative stuff about Rangers.
  14. No mention of Neil McCann's statement on the BBC Scotland website. What a surprise.
  15. Good for you. I lived in Leicester for most of the 1980s and, although I didn't manage to to get up to watch Rangers (again, well done to you!) I had the pleasure of watching Jock Wallace's Leicester City team!
  16. The two giveaways were the date and the comment about a 'disappointing day'!
  17. He's not alone, but McCrory's shooting is woeful for a professional footballer.
  18. I thought he generally played well, if not up to his best standards, but, given the performances of many of his team mates he looked fine, overall. Know what you mean though - a few times he overshot the ball when running at their defence.
  19. One positive in an otherwise disappointing day. Kamara and Kent our best players today.
  20. Regardless of how weak this statement might be (and it is) it will be treated by the media and the SFA as if it was a full attack on the system. On that basis, we might as well have let them have it with both barrels.
  21. April 1968, last game of the season, lost 3-2 at Ibrox to Aberdeen. Alex Ferguson playing centre forward. I was 8. Result meant we lost the league - handed it to celtic who weren't even playing that day. Not sure I really took it all in at the time, to be honest. My main memories, strangely enough, were the vivid colours (the pitch as I saw it for the first time when coming up the steps in the main stand, then the teams' strips) and the sheer noise. I think the reaction to the colours was because I had only really seen football on the TV in black and white before then!
  22. I was in the old enclosure for that game. Really special. .It was actually Stein's home debut and his second hat-trick in a row as he had scored three in the previous game, away at Arbroath.
  23. This. It's clear that we are now seen as a serious threat to the establishment club. No coincidence that it's our key players who are being taken out by the corrupt system. Meanwhile Brown gets away with regularly assaulting other players with no serious consequences. One category to add to your list above: the former Rangers players who think it is appropriate to come out with negative comments about the club or its players. The quote from Billy Dodds now sitting on the BBC Scotlland website is an absolute disgrace. I hope McGregor takes suitable revenge the next time they meet.
  24. Absolutely. That was my reaction when I saw the replay of the incident during the game last night.
  25. I'm assuming that the papers, like BBC Scotland, are making no mention of yet another horrific 'tackle' from Brown at celtic Park last night. For which he received only a yellow card.
